Single Player Mods for JA ?

Hi there,

Again, after a long time, I decided to play Jedi outcast and Jedi academy. As always, I was once again impressed and throughly enjoyed. And of course, I would like to play more missions. So I was wondering if there are some popular and good mods for single player. The idea came to me when I stumbled upon Knights of the Force add-on. So I have 2 questions:

1. For some reason, I can't post on KotF forums so I'm asking here. When I installed this mod, out of all the missions, there were only 3-4 that I could play. The rest had "to be released" when I would mouse over them. I find this strange considering whole mod had over 1,5 GB. How to play rest of the missions?

2. What are other good single player mods for JA ?

ill answer your 2nd question, and leave the first for somebody else to answer since i never bothered to get kotf.

my good buddy chrisg has started 2 threads ,both "are amazing sp maps" the first is for jka,the 2nd is for jo

http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=195403

http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=193350

those should help you to start out with and since chris will be updating his threads you should expect more.

also mercenary just released his new sp mod

http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/Dash_Rendar_Resurgence;97635

this was made for jo but he made an enhanced version for jka

hope that helps.

I will reply simply and to the point, that con called Knights of the Force that claims to be a mod for the Jedi Knight games is just that, a con and a rip off and is disowned and banned by valid and respected Star Wars sites, forums and archives of mods and charged a huge price for it. It was created by a person who stole assets and mods from many authors and combined them in a pirated collection that knowingly and blatantly violates all standards of respect and copyright. We who respect and appreciate the Star Wars games and LucasArts do not support that in any form and certainly not that pirate work. If you want to read more about this, this thread addresses this:

http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=185047

And FileFront a very respected Archive of assets for many fine games made this statment which I totally concur with:

http://jediknight3.filefront.com/news/Knights_of_the_Force_Mod_Content_Removed_from_JKFiles;36708

The Reason I am speaking up on this so strongly is that there is a code of honor and ethics that all who respect the wonderful work of LucasArts and all the other companies who have worked so hard for many years to create the wonderful range of Star Wars games adhere to. We love the games and the great work that they show and we respect the rights and assets of the games. There are hundreds who have created mods for them, and done wonders with that mod work and they all respect this code, and this has allowed great mod work to continue to this day.

Wow, cool. Thanks for detailed reply, that's all I wanted to know. As for KotF, I read what you're saying somewhere else, too. Plus, run files of the mod prompt antivirus so it might be better to just skip it alltogether and enjoy all this other great mods!

  • 1 month later...

I spend some time away from the forums to come back and find out new JA levels have been released. I just downloaded the new Nina level and the Dash Rendar level. I've been waiting a long time for more SP levels to play. Thanks for posting.
