Aash Li
I saw the commercial for this yesterday, and it looks like it could be fun... even though it appears youre stuck as a guy (yet again)... Has anyone played it? What did you think?
swphreak
It was pretty awesome. It's incredibly short. Definitely a rental or bargain bin title. Pretty much every building in the game can be destroyed, and they all have fancy physics and stuff. You can drive vehicles, tanks, and walkers (only found one walker while not on a mission). There is a flying gunship, but you can't pilot it. Which sucks. The main thing you gotta remember is: You're a guerilla fighter. You can't take on an entire army by yourself. You gotta strike and evade. You will be doing a lot of running back to hideouts.
Aash Li
Ah thanks. Ill wait til I find it for 5$ then... unless they come out with some sort of scenario editor or something, then I dont see it making tons of money long term.
mur'phon
Short? Sure, the story missions can be done fast if you are in a hurry, but those, while very well done, is not what you get the game for. No, you get the game to play around with the fantastic physics. To remove key supports of a tower and watch it tip like a hammer onto your foes, to drive mechs through bases and to place tiny black holes inside particularly large buildings and then use the resulting ruble for cover. You buy it for the sidequests, who provide you with plenty of opportunity to exploit the physics. You buy it for one of the best and most unique multiplayer experiences ever. You buy it to get acces to a party game like no other. You buy it to get the best open world game since GTA3. And you buy it to kill people with an ostrich. Personally, I have had more fun with this game than with both Mass Effect and GTA4. Sure, it hasn't a story worthy of even GL, but unless story is a live or die issue for you, you probably won't care.
CommanderQ
Blowing up stuff never gets old. Tried and true:D This game is awesome:D The idea of a fully destructible environment is amazing, especially when everything is built with a real-life physics engine...so much fun:D
