DarthJacen
ReadMe: ====================================================== A KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC MODIFICATION ====================================================== AUTHOR: DarthJacen CONTACT: DarthJacen (KotOR Files) DarthJacen (Lucasforums) NAME: Movie-Style Retextures Version 7 with Flickering Blades. FILENAME: Movie_Style_Retextures_v7 FILE SIZE: 761.14 DATE RELEASED: 07/02/10 Credits: Mono_Giganto for giving me permission to use his flickering idea even though all of my work is original. It was his idea to make them flicker, and I acknowledged this and asked and received his permission at LucasForums. Version 3: Reduced Glows to stock size, and added folders for the different files. Version 4: Made the Flickering a two frame flicker rather than a four frame to resemble the old turning rods used for the Original film with were triangular and rotated giving us the flicker we love today. Version 5: Added the rest of the colors. Version 6: Perfected the colors so they look right ingame, and the whole blade flickers, rather than just the core. I got this idea from the JKA lightsabers. Version 7: This is the final version of this mod, unless someone else has a request. DESCRIPTION: This modification is for the original Knights of the Old Republic, but I have included in a separate folder the two extra colors used in TSL for installation at will. I cannot run it, anymore and therefore cannot provide screenshots for that modification. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Open the archive and extract the files inside to your Override folder. Do not use the dark green or silver textures K1. Although they will not break the game should you add them, the colors do not exist in the stock lightsabers available making them useless. COMMENTS: This modification is best used with Oldflashes lightsaber movie hilts plus Anakin’s ROTS hilt. BUGS: None PERMISSIONS: If you want to use this in a future mod, please contact me for permission before hosting it. Thank you. THIS MODIFICATION IS PROVIDED AS-IS AND IS NOT SUPPORTED BY BIOWARE/OBSIDIAN ENTERTAINMENT OR LUCASARTS OR ANY LICENSERS/SPONSORS OF THE MENTIONED COMPANIES. USE OF THIS FILE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND THE ABOVE MENTIONED COMPANIES OR THE AUTHOR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOUR COMPUTER FOR THE USAGE OF THIS FILE. I, hope, you enjoy the fruits of my labor! I have the TSL blades and Kotor blades in separate folders for easy installation. This mod will overwrite any other mod using these textures. Sith Holocron
DarthJacen, Any possibility of altering either the Orange or Bronze color? As it stands now, those colors can't be seen as different from each other.
DarthJacen
Not really, in the style I'm using. They're going to look identical. Bronze isn't a crystal it's a copper and tin alloy. When you look at bronze it looks orange, so I don't see why I should change it.
Dark_Ansem
it is possible for you to alter a bit the glow textures? less square-like (more round, I'd like) and a bit more transparent once it gets in the "outer circles" (you can see what I mean especially in the silver and purple texture). thanks I can make specular maps for you from your textures, if you think you could have a use for them. DarthJacen
Actually, I have been working on another version of this mod, but I've been waiting for someone to show interest like you, just, did to release it. The answer to your question is sort of. The way the texture box works is by stacking the textures on top of each other until the whole box is full. Secondly, the model of the lightsabers themselves are four plane crisscrossed together in a star-like pattern. Both of the latter, make this lightsaber texturing hard to get right as Qui-Gon Jorn found out in his Heros of the Old Republic mod that is now in version 1.6 and counting. Dark_Ansem
it's how the game shows lightsabers, I thought of that I just thought that, however, xbox shows them so nicely rounded... something could be done if it can't, no harm done
