bryzz
ok so there are the basic armors that the pc can where from the combat suit to the heavy battle armor - yet almost no one in the game wears them - the republic the sith the mandalorians all have their own armor types all of the duelists on taris have combat suit - I am going to try and change some of this - first I am changing the duelists so that they have heavier armor the farther you go personally I like the sith soldiers look so I am not going to change it unless I come up with a really good idea (plus when you see that armor you are meant to think LOOK SITH) but I would like to change all of the republic soldiers and maybe even some of the officers so that they wear one of the basic types of armor - but like what I am doing with the mandalorians I want the armor to look like you would go fight in it – still new – I am not talking about being dirty and beat up – I am thinking camouflage – have it in between the plates and then make the white plate parts just a similar color and I might change czerka – they need a serious change I think my request is for there to be three camouflage schemes (jungle, urban, and desert) for the 3 battle armors ( light, regular, and heavy) this way it will seem a little more realistic – all I need are the skins – that’s wow – 18 skins
Dak Drexl
Ok, I don't think anyone will want to do 18 skins for you, just throwing it out there. What I recommend is that you learn skinning yourself - it's one of the easiest and in my opinion the most fun type of modding. Take a look at some of the skinning tutorials here: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=204678 http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=204636 http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=197003 And then these will be helpful too (after you have your skins): http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=204108 http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=202892 I even go over how to do a camo skin in my skinning tut, perfect for what you need Feel free to PM me if you do decide to take this on and have any questions. bryzz
thats what i was thinking - no one would do so many - and i have looked at so many tuts and i am getting a little better - but my skins still look so flat - kind of cartoonish if you kno want i mean - i was and still am going to make my own skins - but i put the request because if someone would be willing - they will moost likely have more experience and they will look better - then i would use those instead of the ones i made myself
Marius Fett
it's one of the easiest and in my opinion the most fun type of modding. That's a fairly ignorant assumption. Proper texturing/skinning (whatever you want to call it) is actually one of the most difficult and skilled parts of modding. What you're thinking of and calling easy is those little recolours people seem to do when they basically just alter the hue of a texture. Real skinning is much more complex, skilled, difficult and takes a lot of time and effort, so calling it easy is a bit offensive towards those among us who devote so much time to their craft. ..carry on
bryzz
i definently dont find it easy - you are correct - i can change the hue and get a mandalorian armor to be purple and it looks great - in a matter of seconds i am done - easy - but if i tried to do anything else it would take me all day and it would still not look to good
Inyri
Relax yourself, no need to get aggressive over an opinion. Skinning is easier to get into than most other modding types. It's more accessible, which makes it easier by nature. Every type of modding takes a certain level of talent, however, and anything can be complex or difficult. But simple skins are easier than simple models, typically, for example.
