News
Although The Old Republic is officially still penned for a ’2nd half’ 2011 release, EA is prepared for the possibility of BioWare’s highly anticipated game flipping the calendar pages into early 2012. *During an investor conference call today EA noted that, “While we fully anticipate launching*Star Wars: The Old Republic in Q2 or Q3, the [...] Read the full story at starwarsmmo.net... Miltiades
So first both TOR and ME3 were scheduled for a late 2011, pitting them against each other, then they move both to early 2012? Great move, guys. Well, it's still a 'maybe', so we'll see what happens.
Tommycat
I doubt they will release both at the same time.
Mav
The news 'broke' during a conference call with investors, so I'm sure it was more of a "we are prepared" type of thing than an actual forecast. If I were asked to make a bet, I'd still put money on late 2011.
Lynk Former
November - December 2011 would be perfect for me... don't think I'd like it if it was released like February 2011 since I'd end up not having much time to play it before starting another year of Uni and then not having any time to do ANYTHING in TOR for awhile... Miltiades
December would actually be awful for me, since I'll have exams in January. And I'll probably be playing the new Assassin's Creed then, anyway. February 2012 would suit me better, which is between semester at Uni here. The thing is, TOR needs some space for people to get into it and if ME3 follows to closely to it (even if it is more than two months), it might lose customers very soon. It'll need its time to prove itself, definitely since a lot of previews have either been cautiously optimistic or pretty pessimistic. Of course, even if the time between the TOR release and the ME3 is large enough, there are other games waiting to compete with TOR in that period. But it doesn't harm to give your own product the room by not letting your other product compete with it.
