Editing item icons

Word of advice, don't bump threads just wait do people to actually take a look at it. It depends whose online when you post it. It might take longer for a response to threads than just a few hours. But anyway on to your question.

First off, what I tend to do to make this part easier, is to name all of your fields G_A_CLASS6098. Or something like that. Because, to make the icon you have to name it i_a_class6098. Well, at least I think that's how you have to do it, I know silveredge9 did it a different way in brotherhood of shadow.

Sorry, sometimes I do tend to get very impatient.

I've never seen that method before, and it looks very bizarre. I know many people have found many ways to do it, and they don't exactly work for me.

For example, following the tutorial I was using, it comes to the point where it says this:

The last thing to know before finishing up your robe is that if you are not making it overwrite, it will also not have an icon! We don't want an ugly white block in our game, so let's go ahead and give it an icon. The icon can be anything you want - a picture of the robe, or a picture of your cat - simply make sure it is sized to 64x64, and save it as a 32 bit TGA. Save it as ig_a_jedirobe78.tga and you're set!

I follow this with my own numbers:

I put the set in my override folder, load the game, and it shows up as the ugly white square as the icon for the item. Anyone know what I need to do?

KotOR I:

Jedi Robe - ia_jedirobe_xxx.tga

Knight Robe - ia_kghtrobe_xxx.tga

Master Robe - ia_mstrrobe_xxx.tga

Revan Robe - ia_revan_xxx.tga

KotOR II:

Jedi Robe - ia_JediRobexxx.tga

Jedi Knight/Master Robe - ia_MstrRobexxx.tga

Zeison Sha Robe - ia_ClassZS_xxx.tga

Revan Robe - ia_revan_xxx.tga

Darth DeadMan is (mostly) correct; It it is dependent on the texture variation number, not the file name. Well, I hope this helps you for future reference. :)

Just open the .uti in kotor tool and edit it from there. On the tabs up top, hit "Open>Gff Files" and pick your .uti to edit.

If you're really set on using the GFF though, you would just have to find the appropriate field that the name is in.
