mimartin
This is one that I find very hard to believe. The suit accuses U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs officials and Houston National Cemetery director Arleen Ocasio of banning members of these groups from invoking the names of "God" or "Jesus" at burials, and forbidding the recitation of religious messages unless the deceased's family submits the text to her for approval. NBC I hope this is just some type of misunderstanding because otherwise this is just stupid.
Working Class Hero
While I eagerly await the day when God/Allah/Thor is not mentioned at any funeral, this seems a rather cut and dry case of an institution attempting to impose rules on the basis of authority it doesn't have. Darth Avlectus
I can believe someone would try that. People try stupid things. This gets the kind of reaction it did. I, too, hope it was just a misunderstanding. Then again, maybe I can't believe it because of its sheer audacity. Either way it is...surprising. Darth InSidious
Bah, I remember the days when this idea would have got a standing ovation around here.
