Fair Strides 2
I'm opening this thread to ask for any advice, tips, and little secrets for skinning in Photoshop CSS1.1 (CS5.1(?)). I'm looking for particular help in skinning the background skies in the modules. That, and how to keep the in-game quality for character skins. Any help is much appreciated. Maps in particular including KORsky01-05 in "KOTOR2->ERFS->Testure Packs->swpc_tex_tpa.erf" under "K".
Sithspecter
I would do a quick Google search for some tutorials. That is one of the best things that has helped me out. You might look on http://www.scifi3d.com/ also. There are some good texturers there that have done some amazing skyboxes, try contacting one of them. Would you happen to know where to find the skies in Kotortool for K1?
Sithspecter
Sure thing. Look in: Kotor I/ERFs/TexturePacks/swpc_tex_tpa.erf/L Most of them are under there. LDA_sky0001-5 are for Dantooine, LKA_trees01-4 are for Korriban, .etc. All of the texture files for the areas should be in there.

One thing having a particularly challenging time with is using layers and blending options to change an armor's color. I get the color I want, but in-game the fine details are either gone or look all blocky. Any advice to fix this?
Dak Drexl
You might try scaling the textures up to 1024x1024 when texturing for max detail, and then scale them back down to 512 so that it doesn't strain the game so much (or don't scale it back, won't really matter too much). Like if I chucked it through the color Balance adjustment, I lose some details and the rest look really blocky.
