benlinford
Decided to replay kotor, as i've only ever done some of the first few missions before, and see it through to the end. Game runs fine apart from the fact that none of the weapons have any textures. sorry if this has already been posted elsewhere but I have searched through most of the forums and not been able to find an answer. Am running Win 7 Pro x64 intel core 2 quad q9550 @ 2.9Ghz Ati Radeon HD6670 catalyst version 12.7 4Gb Ram I am only running uniws mod, to set res to 1920x1080 and stop suggested resolution popup on my monitor, and am using nocd patch as the discs are a bit old and scratched. Have tried wotor mod and there are no textures on those either. Any and all help much appreciated. Thanks
Axel Shiokawa
Odds are from what I have seen it may be the fault of tech just getting better. There should be another thread on this page where someone mentioned the transparent nature of certain textures and its said to be the fault of newer intel chipsets having issues with 'shiny' textures. I will admit that its a bit annoying seeing through someone because of the texture being messed up on a sword or single hilt lightsaber, but its not enough of an issue for me to not play through. benlinford
It's not that they're transparent, you can still see the swords and guns, they just have no texture, they're completely white. Armour and other shiny objects are all there and properly textured, just not weapons. I'll try to post a picture to show what I mean.

Q
This is almost definitely a problem with your graphics card. Radeons have traditionally had various problems with the KotOR games, from minor annoyances like yours to making the game unplayable. Some driver versions would be fine while others wouldn't, and a common fix was to go back to an older driver. I don't think that would work with your card because it's so new. You really should reinstall the game according to the large-print instructions at the top of the second post in this thread, or, at the very least, try the Dantooine lag fix: First, figure out where the .ini is installed. Default is "C:\Program Files\Lucasarts\swkotor(2)\swkotor(2).ini". If its not in that location, then your going to have to do some searching around on the hard drive a bit. When you find it, just double-click on the file to open it in Notepad. Scroll down the file until you find the Graphics Options Under the last line ("last line" as in the last line of the list of entries under "Graphics Options", NOT the last line of "swkotor(2).ini"), add "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1", without the quotes. Goto File, then Save.
benlinford
Thanks, I'd already tried the Install as per the first post of that thread, didn't realise the second post had more instructions. Will try it this evening.
benlinford
dantooine lag fix makes no difference and tried installing as per the thread including the opengl fix for ati drivers still the same. Guess I'll just have to try and live with it, I know it's only a small issue but I have a bit of ocd and, hopefully, this isn't gonna be one of those things that get's me worked up. Thanks for the help!

Sithspecter
I had the same problem with lightsabers a while back. The only thing that worked for me was to scale up the lightsaber texture. If you want, I can scale up a few textures and send them to you to see if that works.
