Tigersong Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Does the Steam version of The Old Republic download faster than the regular one? If I reinstall the game, I don't want to wait a whole day for it.
Hassat Hunter Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 There is no TOR on Steam. Did you mean Origin?
Lynk Former Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 There is no swtor on steam or origin. The only place you can get the launcher to download the game files is from swtor.com and no where else.
Tigersong Posted January 2, 2014 Author Posted January 2, 2014 Then I guess I won't be downloading it again. Clarification: That sounds spiteful, doesn't it? I just meant that I'd rather not have it downloading for twenty-four hours, then updating for another two. ><
Lynk Former Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 It's a 46GB game... either way it'll take a long time to download unless you have fibre. Steam or Origin won't make much of a difference... also consider that the time of when you download the game, the status of your ISP and the load of the download server for swtor matters as well. I've redownloaded swtor from scratch before at a time when the download server wasn't overrun by people installing updates and I've gotten comparable speeds to Steam... and I'm down here in Australia which has no download servers for the game anywhere near my country. Even if it was available through other methods, my guess is that you would've cancelled the download out of frustration anyway.
Hassat Hunter Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 There should be a streaming option, that allows to just download starter planets, then the rest while you're playing...
