Artisa
well done on the Monkey Island angle though lol I'm quite happy with how it turned out! That's not really rocking though Better?
Artisa
Oh hell! I know this was uploaded years ago and you guys probably already saw it before but damn, THIS is Monkey Island in 3D as it was meant to be!!! :3heart: (This BBCode requires its accompanying plugin to work properly.) I'm drooling.
RoyTordesLegend
while I'm sure this looks lovely, Monkey Island 1 and 2 are perfect the way they're are, in fact the other Monkey Islands should have been the same style. Retro rocks!
Artisa
Precisely my point! I hated it when they turned EMI into 3D but I bet I wouldn't have if it looked like THIS!! True there were more limitations in terms of graphics back then in which case they should've stuck to 2D imo
Huz
Yeah this video looks great but even so, the environments outside of the set pieces of Captain Dread's ship and the International House of Mojo are pretty empty. Just proves how effective fixed 2D backdrops (as in the original games) or constrained 3D environments (like in Tales) are - even with the best technology to hand, as in these videos, it's too difficult to fill up an open world with detail. Escape was the worst of both worlds - fixed 3D backdrops that looked horrible.
Artisa
Pre-rendered backgrounds that at times caused graphical errors! I remember I figured the place looked empty simply because the maker didn't get to putting more stuff in between - I mean there were only like three locations 3Dified
Zoom Rabbit
Construction paper cut-outs and a video camera. Perhaps someday, low tech will make a comeback...
Artisa
Ooh that'd be neat! There's a certain charm to low tech stuff that you can't find in todays' stuff

RoyTordesLegend
Malarkey? Wasn't that some kind of fish? Yes! It's a Rocking Fish! ....and interesting fact, my first ever ISP back in 1999 (unless we count bulletin boards on the Amiga 1993-1994 ish) was 'Madasafish'.... I picked up their disk from 'Dixons', back when subscription free, pay as you go Internet was relatively new.

Zoom Rabbit
Found at work (my old job) one day. It goes into a bigger pan full of hot water which is used to keep food hot. I took this picture as evidence of how stupid cooks can be, then chucked it into the garbage can.
Artisa
I can't quite make sense of that sign grammatically... Reminds me of this thing I saw once online about a guy who got a pen stuck in a printer and put up a notice so people wouldn't use it.
Zoom Rabbit
Artisa my dear, your innocence is as charming as it is perennial. I believe the third line of that note is meant to be read as one word and not two.

Zoom Rabbit
Very good. Just know that that is an inappropriate way to use a copier. One's 'pen' isn't interesting enough to photocopy in the first place...
Artisa
I could be wrong but I have seen many a show where people seemed to enjoy photocopying their... sitting apparatuses.
