STAR WARS kicks off a brand-new tale that follows the events of “Star Wars: A New Hope” and features the entire original cast of characters who inhabit that galaxy far, far away. Aaron and Cassaday intend to bring their formidable storytelling abilities to bear on the saga, tapping into their own Star Wars fandom as well as their combined experience as consummate comic book professionals. http://marvel.com/news/comics/2014/7/27/22974/sdcc_2014_darth_vader http://kierongillen.tumblr.com/post/93018534252/as-i-was-leaving-my-brothers-wedding-the-news After the January 2015 launch of the first new Star Wars series at Marvel Comics in decades, writer Kieron Gillen and artist Salvador Larroca will delve into the Dark Side with STAR WARS: DARTH VADER, an ongoing series beginning in February. HED
Will wait and see. It is hard to get too excited about eras that have been overdone before... Yeah. I mean, the main series looks to have the same exact premise as the one Dark Horse is running now. Darth Vader is the one I'm looking forward to. Kieron Gillen excels at villain protagonists. Miltiades
Kieron Gillen excels at villain protagonists. Gillen eh? I'm not a comic book reader (anymore), and I haven't read any of his works, but I still remember him fondly from his days at RockPaperShotgun. A proper video game journalist if I ever saw one. Anyway, it's to be expected that this new age of Star Wars will initially focus on stories set in the era of the movies. I'm hoping they go back to exploring different times of the universe in the future. I'm much more interested in that.

Yeah, he's a become a really good comics writer. There's a good amount of diversity to his output, too.
Alkonium
While I think Dark Horse's Star Wars comics are great, didn't Marvel originally do Star Wars comics back when the OT was still in theatres?
