[REL] JKJA SP Unlocker & additional content

Hello everyone,

 

After a long time, the lose of my registration details (saved now forever),

many lessons and researches for JKA Editing and existing modifications

i was able to solve most of the goals for my own JKA SP Unlocker.

More simple as i thought. But NOT without the Help of other author and his modifications

So long story but less sense...

Based on the modification from M.Williams, Saber_Menu_Style_&_Type_Mod_v.2

Here it is, the New and more proper Jedi Knight Jedi Academy Singleplayer Unlocker

[REL] SP Unlocker v4

UPDATE (2016-02-03)

-you can choose all saberstyles in menu

-you can still continue to missions after "vjun3"

-official wallpaper redisgned as unknownmap.jpg for loading screen

-official wallpaper for the first splash loading screen

-changed menu music to a more classic and epic one!

-complete menu sounds from jedi Outcast

-removed the window grid from the main menu screen

-disabled force select screen

-enabled function for dismember feature from beginning of a new game

without use of the console, an hex, hook or a trainer!

(autoexec.cfg and setdismember.cfg are necessary)

 

v401 [updated version 1]

-enabled function for dismember feature from a save or quickload

-fixed a problem with english language

 

v402 [updated version 2]

-fixed shaders and gfx to prevent multiplayer from bugs

-added missing texture of Luke Skywalkers Hilt

-added missing texture of NPC used Reborn Hilt

-added broken staff sabers from author "minilogoguy18"

-removed t2_trip messages "Wrong Way" and "Use turbo to jump chasm"

-Fixed Morgan Katarn force powers (added few, no saber, is forceuser)

-removed RocketTrooper_ver1 (scaled stormtrooper, but duplicated)

-removed Cultist Destroyer (Its just lack of animation)

-removed Jawa_Armed (crashing game, no use of them)

-added cvar_unlocker from author "Mr. Dinnertime"

-fixed Bartender, no longer weird dance.

-changed Tusken Sniper classes to FREE

-changed Imperial Commander voice

-increased Rosh hp for yavin1

-fixed "Assassin_droid" sound

-removed rocks NPC

-removed Test NPC

-increased force push

-adjusted walking speed of some NPCs

-added JKJAmp.bat with dismember commands

-added Better JKA Hud from author "Deugar" and combined it with vanilla

INSTALLATION

01. If you use previous version of JKA SP Unlocker, please delete older version before.

02. Extract the JKJA.bat/exe and JKJAmp.bat/exe to the main directory where jasp/mp.exe is located

(C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData)

03. Extract the "Unlocker_v402.pk3, Unlocker_v402_patchFX.pk3, autoexec.cfg" and "setdismember.cfg" to the base directory

(C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData)

 

CLEAN JKJA directory

+SP Unlocker +FX addon

ATTENTION

I've compiled the .BAT files to executables with the program Bat2Exe

http://wiki.uniformserver.com/index.php/PHP_WinBinder:_Project#Create_an_EXE_file

The executables can return a false AV Positive!

But i guess they are clean and not dangerous!

If players adding new characters after the installation of the Unlocker,

they need a update for the "MENUS.str".

Otherwise species name of added characters or saber names aren't shown.

I've made many more fixes for existing modifications,

at the moment more for skins and little function ones.

  1. All these Modifications are not created by me!
  2. I have only improved or adapted to the Single Player!
  3. The original Authors don't support these versions!
  4. Files will updloaded after obtaining approval

from the Dark Forces 2 Kyle with jacket from Author "GPChannel"

(disabled character menu entries because, original mod adds a new entry to SP.

This is illogical, play as Kyle and learn at the same time from him?!)

Updated and near release, i hope^^

But i'm still searching for help!

Atm for an integration of Manual Blocking System into Singleplayer.

Maybe somebody can help me with a hint or a little description about it!?

Update....

Character Mara Jade is now available for Singleplayer

I was not able to find the source of that model.

It was used by this project (Mysteries Of The Sith)

but it isn't from it! It is from an older source of JKJA mod times.

No English language? I tried everything to change it to English it's just not on the list.

 

Are you sure this is a problem with this mod? I haven't tried it so I don't know but it seems like it might be something more than just this mod removing English options.

Base game and all other mods have English but as soon as I use this English language is removed from all the mods and the base game. I had to completely reinstall the game.

 

Using steam version if that helps.

Modification is fixed!

I've changed to english, relaunched the game, english was broken,

integrated the fix, repacked, launched the game

and everything was in english.

 

Please redownload and overwrite old version!

(same PK3 file name)

BTW i will add some more things in a few days

 

Another bug, for some reason the assassin droids will not spawn while your Unlocker_v4.pk3 is in the base folder? The console has Error: unable to spawn assassin_droid happened on 2 levels so far and in places where the game will not continue till you kill them.

 

Also if I use duel sabers and any of the custom hilts (dooku, sidious, qui gon etc) the game crashes with ghoul2 error, Lukes saber seems to have no textures at the moment too.

I use the steam version so I assume it's 1.01, when the assassin droids wouldn't spawn I removed all other mods to be sure but it still refused to spawn them so I uninstalled the game (but kept the save) and reinstalled it then I just added the sp unlocker and it still wouldn't spawn the assassin droids.

 

The ghoul2 error only happens when using the custom sabers in dual mode I have no idea why as it does not happen when using the standard sabers in dual mode, I had the issue before with a Kylo Ren saber mod that I removed a while ago.

 

Is there any way you can add 4 armed grievous to the character list? the best one I found was here:

He doesn't show up on the SP character select screen just on MP would be a great addition if it's possible.

Just took some pics, I hadn't tried the custom sabers since the reinstall so tried them today in dual saber mode in all variations and it seems the ghoul2 error has stopped, the other errors remain the same. I started a new game and loaded the maps that have assassin droids using the console (map t2_rogue Capture Crime Lord Coruscant and map vjun3 enter Vaders castle part 3) and it still will not spawn them I took a pic:

But I will investigate the trouble and maybe i can find out what's the problem with all these strange things.

As far as I know the steam version is no different than the retail (disc) version I do have it somewhere (probably in the loft/attic with all my pc discs) not needed disc versions of games since downloaded versions hit the scene. I can try a manual 1.01 install just in case.

 

That grievous would be great as a SP character the other version suffers with floating arms this version the arms are attached correctly.

 

Strange that the assassin droids work on yours maybe the 1.01 manual install will fix that also but as far as I have read on steam the game downloads as 1.01

 

If it's just me then it's obviously an issue with my install/PC :( will report back once I have tried the 1.01 file.

Basically what happens is if a mod has to modify files the steam launcher is aware of, steam thinks it needs to update/rewrite those files, which means the changes the mod is making get undone when you launch the game.

 

This behavior can happen in some cases for the KotOR games too, but some mods aren't really a problem because everything changed goes into the \override folder, which steam doesn't pay any real attention to, so it never changes these files back. Mods that go altering files that are normally present in a 'base install' though can get into the same situation as you're seeing here.

 

Aagin.. not trying to speak with any certainty or authority, but from the sound of what's going on, it's definitely worth consideration.

You can try that "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" in Steam

Or install the official patch over your installed game manually.

I think not it is a problem of missing windows updates or something...

You have Win7 or 8/10?

Or do you maybe use a fixed executable to start without steam? :D

Okay i've downloaded this grievous and if I'm not able to find the problem for that spawn error i will work on the skin for you!

Steam only changes things if you use the client or a steam generated icon, when using the exe direct or a mods own batch file it bypasses steams update for the game.

I got it working droids spawn, no ghoul2 however the luke saber is still missing it's textures (I can live with that) so all is well. I have no idea what was causing it I simply removed (deleted) the mod and put it back in again maybe I did something wrong when installing it? I never removed the previous version as I assumed it would over write and work but there we go I got it working :D

Okay that are good news...

You can use Ben Kenobi Hilt.. it is the same texture and model like Luke's Hilt.

Only the bottom of hilt is black and the overall is a little bit darker.

 

EDIT: I will work on Grievous today, in night to morning.

If everything goes right, i think he is tommorrow ready (in around 6 hours)

I need to complete some RL tasks first^^

Yes I can use all the other sabers, as I say not overly bothered about the saber hilt textures as the hilt itself works just wanted to report it just in case.

 

The grievous model would be great in SP so hope it's easy for you ;), real life comes before anything :thmbup1:

4.0.2 works great :-D no crashes or errors in SP, when using lightning in MP I get a black square covering the other bots/players only other mods installed alongside is magna guard with electro staff (VM version) and grievous (the one linked above)

 

All textures are working especially lukes saber :-D I like the saber trails but it's all about personal preference, add an option to disable for those that don't want it?
