Plus, as you saw Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Nero came from the future, which was driven by the true Star Trek canon. So basically Nero altered the past, which changed the future of Star Trek

Alkonium Posted November 14, 2010 Author Posted November 14, 2010 Technically speaking, Star Trek XI is set in an alternate reality, which exists parallel to everything that came before it. Since concepts such as alternate realities are nothing new to Star Trek, both are easily canon.
