Guest Stryder
I wrote Lucas Arts and asked them if I could copy my CD so I could play LAN at my house. They said that I souldn't need to do this and that GB should run without a CD in multiplayer as long as GB is installed on both computers. Is this true? And if so how do I do it? General Nilaar
I've played MP without the CD before, should be no problem. One of you just won't be able to listen to the music on their computer. I once started plalying and forgot that I had left Rainbow Six in the drive, and the music from that game started playing! It was the day I installed the patch so for a second I thought they had changed the music;)
AoErat
Install GB on both computers. Then, stick the playdisc in one, and host the game on that computer. Start up GB without the cd on the other computer (you won't be able to play single-player), and join game you setup on the first computer. This method supports up to 3 computers. That should do it. DarthNoodles
Hi, In our experience here at work, we've needed 1 CD for every 2 people to play the game (not including computer players). So for every person to joins without a CD there must be someone WITH a CD. 2 of us here at work bought the game and 4 people installed it. One day the othe guy forgot his CD at home and we could only get a 1 v 1 game going. THe game wouldn't launch because too many people were in for hte 1 CD available. but then the no-cd patch became available. No worries mate. Guest Stryder
Where do I get the no-cd patch DarthNoodles?
DarthNoodles
*sorry* BTW - I'm not encouraging pirating. I want people to buy this game. But for people like myself the no-cd patch is handy. I can now play the MP at lunch and kill my coworkers and then play the single player missions at home without having to remember to bring the **** CD back and forth. DarthNoodles
Yes I get to play at work. But only during lunch. We like to play the defend the monument. It only take 20min so we can get 3 games in 1 lunch hour. There's lots of us here that like to play games at lunch. It used to be Quake2 then Quake3 for a while and Elite Force. NOw it Galactic Battlegrounds. My manager just picked up Return to Castle WOlfenstien(sp?) and says it's great so we may get into that too. It's fun being able to kick your boss' **** during lunch after kissing it all morning. That's not true actually. My boss is pretty cool.
Guest _Sheepcidus_
You can use your install cd also btw you won't get any music and you won't be able to play single or campaigns but you are able to play multi so you'll only need 2 people that own GB to play a 4v4
lord_adelgard
Sheepcidus did you try to do that with the ver1.1 ? Because I was used to play in LAN to bg (ver1.0) and since I got the ver1.1 it doesn't work anymore...
