Does everyone else think SWGB should allow you to transfer units say your partner lost everything cept a scout he can not rebuild anymore an allie should be able to give him a bot hence transfer units so he can rebuild. or you make 40 troopers and you tranfer them to him so he has some defense. along the same lines if your allie bots die before finishinhinh building say like a fortress your workers should be able to go over and finish building it for him. could be just me but i think it makes sense. :fett: :fett:

yes that could be improve the team games but I think (I played only twice to AOE) that in AOE ur partner was able to take the command of ur guys...but I'm really not sure and I apologize to all the fans of AOE if I'm wrong :D

That was something that was an option on Total Annihilation (TA). You could give troops, buildings, and resource gathers.

It was real useful when you were almost totally dead in the waters and your ally could give you some troops and resource gathers.

It would be great to have that option in SWGB.

This isn't really that good an idea. If your buddy needs help, just send your troops there and protect him. He doesn't need to control your troops.

Then shouldn't he quit?

You could still convert things with Jedi/Sith.

Hi to all,

I just registered, i've been looking for the past week on internet how to give units to allied players!

I think lucas arts should really add that in the next patch!:fett:

It takes alot of code to add that feature, and it will be more realistic to hope for it in the expansion set than a patch. But I don't think it will be added at all.

i think we should be able to transfer units and stuff

then one does the economy and one does the military and that would be really cool

and also if your ally was bashed up it would help him rather than just see him leave the game

It is possible to do that without the use of swapping units.

Personally you have to ask this questrion:

What would it do to improve your situation???

Nothing.

You would lose workers and they could prove valuable for making a military and stabalizing your economy. And think about it. You would also have to give them a HUGE chunk of carbon and other resources because they would be building from ground up with basically nothing.

It might end up hurting you in the long run...

Usually the dead player has enough resources to build a new command center, which is all he really needs.

Unless they were desperatly shooting units off the production line to defend the town...then taht might have drained the resources...plus in early tech levels you arn't able to build a Command Center...

Actually, if your command center is destroyed, you CAN build a new command center no matter which tech level you are at.

i think transfering units and helping allies build there building would be good. But it would also add alot of other question one is if you transfer 50 units to him but he only has enough house for 20 of them would he still be able to have them since himself did not make them. or if you finish building your allies build and you did most of the building should that building become yours. one thing i think would be great is if you took over a bad guys building or bot you should be able to use their technology and make there units and buildings with it.:fett:

For the population thing...

If you built 80 units, and then half of your houses were destroyed, none of your 80 units will die because of that.
