I just wanted to ask you guys truthfully after most of you have been here for months like me if you think gb is as good as you thought it would be. I mean its a great game but here are a few complaints iv had from ppl that i thought u guys could comment on and well see what we all think.

 

The grafix dont flow well and the game just dosent "sing" like AOK did(im talking about that feeling you got while playing AOK where u felt like u were really there)

 

Its a "clone of AOK" i think the engine really hurt us here just because its the AOK engine everybody automatically thinks its a cheap game made by some guys who just plugged units in (im starting to get that feeling but with some of the aditions it keeps it from getting to bad)

 

nobody is playing in the online community-- here is my complaint

i think u guys need to put aside the fact that the zone sucks and come play with all of us on the zone i mean think what ur doin ur acctually decreasing the chance of an expansion pack because ur not playing if im gaber and Lucas arts i think that ppl bought the game but didnt like it so they dont play (just because nobody is playing online) when it really comes down to it the zone is a great thing it links players from all over the world to play games (cut out the newbies because u were there once) and the horrible lag because of the ppl that host that are stupid but besides that why dont u get ur butts out there and play. How many ip games do u guys play a month about 5 or 6 if u guys were on the zone or another gaming place but i think the zone is fine u would get good and ultimately get more outa ur moldy 50 dollars u used to buy the game

 

 

 

 

So i guess my problem or umm concern is with u guys and gaber.

 

for gaber and the design team for not making this a great game (a good game none the less) but not a GREAT game which can still be fiixed with a good x pack or even a good patch that smooths the graphix out. And most of all to my fellow forumers who if they play the game on the zone it would make the game greater for them,they would have fun,get better at the game,and possibly making it a GREAT game by providing endless multiplayer oppurtunities.

 

feel free to post ur problems with me here since i know the wrath of the forum will fall upon me but serriously in the back of ur mind are u satisfied with what ur gettin now from the game. if ur not its only ur fault and partially the fault of MR gary m gaber and Lucas arts for not making a "great game" but u guys should take full responsibility if this is the case.

dude, how is it everyone is dissapointed by the graphics? We were spoon fed like 4 moths worth of screenshots, not to mention a review by every tom, **** and harry. THe graphics look great...especially the Naboo naval units...they look so cool. A lot of the unints in this game looks so cool and make all kinda cool sounds too. I love the Gungan units, like when they say, "mesa usin abora medine", and "Hi-ho patty!". And lets not forget the trade fed bounty hunter, "My price just doubled!" All kinds of cool stuff in this game i just cannot see why anyone is dissappointed??? I agree with you a little on the point that yes the graphics are good but they coulda used more tweaking over...like i have said in previous posts if they make an x-pack and tweak some of the animations, effects and little details this game would sick!!! I say look at hte detail of these units as oppose to the detail in the units in say Red alert Yur's revenge..that too is a 2d game engine btw...so is Kohan Imortal soverign, however i hear noone *****in about em bein dated...but compare those units to the detail of the units in this game! THere is no comparison...that's where the age of kings engine shines...in making lots of intricate detail on big and small units...and puttin lots of em onscreen easily. Starcraft let you have 200 worth of units...but some units were worth 8 units..most of the big units were so you only really had about 160 units when it said 200...this engine has 200 straight up. And it handles em well. Sometimes in 8 player games in Starcraft, the game WOULDN'T LET YOU build more units if there were too many on screen. I have already pointed out about how Empire Earth the hottest new RTS out there only lets you have 700 onscreen max. So as you can see the AOK engine is both fast, flexible and capable of pumpin out some real detail. I have the impression that the game was a tad rushed, but nobody should complain about hte graphics...it simply does not compute..hehe!

Well....honestly....even though its a great game i ended up doing the same thing that i did with AOK. I played it for about a week or two, got tired of it, and then didn't play it for a ehile. I'll pick it up and dust it off every once in a while, but all in all, it simply isn't that fun for that long.

People playing on the zone or not playing on the zone is not going to determine if they make an expansion pack or not Masta. What determines that is how many copies they sold from the reports of gaming stores. I can safely say that there will be an expansion pack. You have to remember, not everybody plays on the Zone. For everybody that plays on the zone, there are 4 people who only play ip or by themselves on their computers. The Zone whether some of you like or not is going downhill. A game can not be judged on whether it is a success or failure on a gaming domain such as that.

 

I am not trying to be rude by saying all kids are immature because it is actually quite the opposite for I have met plently of 14 and 15 year olds who act more mature than friends I know personally and I am 26 years old and I have great respect for them and their opinions. But on the zone, it seems to attract the immature kids and that ruins the fun for us gamers who dont have egos to grind and try to make the zoners "fear us". It is sad that some people thrive and lust for that kind of a feeling. It is one thing to want to be the best, but it is another to just play to make people fear you. Because of that, you get the "UbErLeWTDeWdZ" who just outright taint the games.

 

I happen to lag a lot on the zone as do a majority of others. It is one thing to play a game that is lagging really bad, but to have those kinds of gamers flaming others and acting like a goon that just beat up a girl and stole her lunch money is yet another.

 

That is why the Senate is hoping to create such tournies that will help other players escape from such atmospheres and enjoy the game for what it really is... a FUN GAME =)

this post really was to get ppl thinking about wheather their happy witht the game or not thos opinions are not all mine and i do admit i made a mistake on the zone =expansion thing but i apoligize for that. I tried for months to get a league going and got no support at all (we had several good ideas for planetary systems and grids and so on ) if anybody would like to help me set up or run a system like this all the help i could get would be appriciated (if ya want ill look up the old threads)

 

I for one really like this forum but i think once viper came i started getting a bad taste in my mouth for flaming "little kids" which is why i only stop by on occasion and dont post here 50+ posts per day like i used to.

 

(BTW tir am i one of those immature 14 year olds ;))

bah! you're computer can't run it, so you assume it sucks!

 

My computer can NOT run it, but i've played it on my parents super computer, and it is REALLY fun. MP is the way to go in it, cause the ai can't stand up to a vet rts player.
