GonkH8er
2 new bits of info. they've added a screenshot picture to the load/save menu. (max payne style, so you can know exactly where it is you saved) they've created a new tc_gen type for overhead fog. thankyou mr monroe
Agen
good so now i can see where i am rather than innie-minnie minie mo-ing? Maybe i'm jsut ignorant but what a tc_gen type thing?
Obi Kwan
Ahhh.... first time i read your post gonk i thought there were screen shots of the load/save menu floating around some where (which I thought was strange, but went looking for em anyway) I need to learn how to read. ed_silvergun
Nice! A screenshot for the save/load system will be very useful. Thanks for the info Gonk.
digl
that savegame screenshot thing sounds nice looks like they are taking care of all the details Im not sure exactly what the other thing is, but It probably provides a better fog effect, which is good Can someone explain exactly what is that thing? Moses
Yes, that does sound nice. I think that is the main thing that separates computer games from consoles. With most computer games you can save at any point. After every person you kill if you feel like it. With consoles it's normally at specific points, after levels, etc. And I would like to know what the fog thing is too if you don't mind posting it Gonk? Roger
Well, with the hard drive in the Xbox it is possible to save a game just like you do it on a PC. So with the new generation consoles things like that will become the same as the way it is handled in PC games.
Moses
My mistake. I've never played Xbox. Thank you for the correction though. I guess it does make sense that the more detailed of a save you wanted, the more space it would take...
OnlyOneCanoli
I don't care much about the size of saves because I have a 60GB hd. But when I was playing Deus Ex on a 15GB hd, it was hell with the saves that were anywhere from 8MB-15MB because of the screen shots. I personally love this ype of feature though. And yes, please do explain this fog thingie.
StormHammer
I pretty much expected the gamesave screenshot. It was in SOF and EF, after all, so there would be no logical reason to omit it from JKII. I'm also not sure what you mean by tc_gen for fog...would you mind clarifying that Gonk? Thnx. Moses
Even our experienced gamers don't know what this fog thingie is, and Gonk threw it out there like everyone would know. hehe
Roger
I've just sent an e-mail to James Monroe to ask him about the fog (there's a lot of it right now here in San Francisco). I'll post the answer on my site and here as soon as I get it. Hopefully he has the time to answer our question. Roger

Roger
I've asked for a screenshot (of just the fog, nothing else) but I got a "sorry but no". Everything that is promotional (media, game information etc) goes through LucasArts... Roger
GonkH8er
its texture generation. probably just found a new or better way of mapping the textures to their respective locations. edit- just saw that roger updated his site and asked monroe about it. eheh. glad people are listening. texture gen for fog in bespin_undercity we wanted some really cool fog to hang, well, under the city. turns out we can do that best with a new texture gen function and some special textures. it's looking really cool. and texture generate is just a function to control the placement of textures on triangles good work roger
