Heavyarms
I got my new video card (16mb Ati xpert 128), the other one is built in, and I need to know how to turn off the other one from BIOS so I can use the new one. Someone give me clear, detailed instructions.
Boba Rhett
Do you happen to have the manual for your motherboard? On my last computer I had to move some jumpers, disable it and set the new one as the main in the bios. The manual would help out alot in helping you locate the proper place in the bios to go to as well as show you if there were any jumpers you needed to move. matt--
If you have a newer, jumperless motherboard, you'll have to go into the bios. Once again, check your motherboard manual. On some motherboards you can simply disable the onboard chip in Device Manager.

Heavyarms
Like I have stated, I am no genius, and I need to know where the motherboard manual is. All I have is the main computer manual. I turned hardware acceleration off. Does that mean I turned it off necessarily? You guys are my only hope. I need some detailed instructions on how to disable through decvice manager, and where it is located at in the manager. Rhett, give me the exact details of what you did. I will try them on my computer.

matt--
It is impossible for us to help without more info. I suggest you contact your tech support. Most off the shelf computers don't come with the motherboard manual, so the consumer really has no idea about any of the jumpers. If you want help with the Device Manager way reply with your OS version.

matt--
ok...it's been awhile. Right click "My Computer" and select "properties" "Device Manager" should be one of the tabs. A list of all your hardware should be on the screen. Reply with what is on your screen. Either type it in, or better yet, upload it to some webspace* *press alt+printscreen to take a screenshot and then paste it into a a graphic program. Save and upload like any other pic.
