lonepadawan Posted January 27, 2002 Posted January 27, 2002 Will Kyle be able to block swings at his back with his lightsaber (Like obi-wan in ep1) It's a move I noticed missing from everysingle JK saber mod. Is it impossible?
CaptainRAVE Posted January 27, 2002 Posted January 27, 2002 hmmm......interesting question. Well I hope he will be able to as most Jedi will be able to anyway. Which trailer did you see OBW do that block in??
CaptainRAVE Posted January 27, 2002 Posted January 27, 2002 I know where you mean now. We have seen very little of Kyles moves. But one of them we have seen the lightsaber over his head....so maybe hes just blocked from behind.....remember, whenever the lightsaber is ignited, anything will bounce off it, not just when Kyle blocks
dazilla Posted January 27, 2002 Posted January 27, 2002 Also I would love to be able to do that behind the back blocking move, as well as the flip and have lightsabers clash! That would be fun...u know basically the entire sequence after qui-gon died.
acdcfanbill Posted January 27, 2002 Posted January 27, 2002 yea i have also been wondering about the behind block for a while, but i figgured that you had to be able to get hit sometime... otherwise the only place that anyone will be able to be cut is the back of their calves...
Wacky_Baccy Posted January 27, 2002 Posted January 27, 2002 I really hope this feature is in the game... I think I'll be quite disappointed if it's not, although it definitely won't make-or-break the game for me - I just think that with all of the other saber moves JK2 is going to have, this one should certainly be in
Millions o' Monkeys Posted January 28, 2002 Posted January 28, 2002 i dont believe its such a big feature, sure it would be cool if it was in the game but it wouldnt matter if it wasnt
Wacky_Baccy Posted January 28, 2002 Posted January 28, 2002 Monkeys, Â As I said, it definitely won't make-or-break the game for me, but I just think it'll be odd if they give us 24 attack moves, and not a single defensive one at all - and the backwards block would be the best defensive one to put in, because it's actually useful, with Kyle having no other rear defenses. (That, and the fact that forward-blocking is either automatic - for blaster shots - or innate in the attacking swing of your per-poly saber blade ) Â I won't really mind if it's not in, but to me at least, it makes a great deal of sense to include it
JVS Posted January 28, 2002 Posted January 28, 2002 Hmm...if there flips in the game there should be this block. Otherwise it could be really hard to block attacks of your opponent, when he just jumped over you...wouldn´t it?
acdcfanbill Posted January 28, 2002 Posted January 28, 2002 use your mouse to pull a 180 simple, see!!
nykel007 Posted January 28, 2002 Posted January 28, 2002 I hope we'll be able to block while in the air. Saves time:D
Moses Posted January 28, 2002 Posted January 28, 2002 Remember when Darth Maul jumped off his speeder and he and Qui-Gon clashed sabers while he was still in the the air, upside down, in the middle of a 180? Yeah...that was cool.
Renzo Posted January 28, 2002 Posted January 28, 2002 Now we're talking about 2 types of blocking here: shot and saber. I think that if you're too stupid to have your back to an opponent, then you deserve to be slashed. On the other hand, i think there should be a behind-block for being shot at. I think read that all force powers, including block, have 3 levels. so maybe at the 3rd level, you have the ability to block behind you.
dazilla Posted January 29, 2002 Posted January 29, 2002 For being shot, you should be facing you opponent anyway. But as for a lightsaber duel, it's easy for the enemy to get behind you, so a behind-the back block would be extremely helpful.
