Some of us are a bit older than the average Lucasforums poster, and some of us aren't that much older but a lot more mature. (I wouldn't call any of us "really old men" though.)

Some of us are none of the above. :rolleyes: Fortunately, they are fairly easy to spot here.

Actually, it just LOOKS like that plane is where it is. It's really almost half a mile away from Sears Tower on the approach to O'Hare. But from the tower at Meigs, it looks like it's going to hit Sears Tower.

Also, how does one find a picture of a hijacking?

Also, the filename is "horribletaste.jpg"

Observe how I made a fictional picture of a fictional event in a fictional game:

Looks like my plane's about to hit that pointy building (viewed from the tower at Meigs (again)).

But it's really really far away because it just LOOKS like it. I didn't even have to simulate a hijacking (although once I did. I decided to pretend hijackers made me fly to Cuba!)

It's FS2002 Professional. It cost me $76 but I had $25 store credit so it FEELS like I paid less. No copy for you :p The plane is a Project Opensky freeware 767-300ER originally intended for FS2000 but it was so detailed that it doesnt' look out of place in FS2002. I forget what the differences between the Standard and Pro versions are (there's a few extra planes and editing software in the Pro plus something else I don't use so I dont' remember what it is). It's a FANTASTIC game and is really worth the money. If you have CFS2, the planes are interchangable. It's fun to go zipping through the streets of NYC in a Corsair (which btw is one of the planes in FS2002) and weird to drag down a 747 in a Zero over Midway.

Apologies for the large size:

Looks almost like the real NYC. I did the textures for that plane.

Ok now I'm done.

PS ZARG: I did eventually find that airport in Willard. It was listed as Univ. of Ill.-Willard.

Hey, don't blame me because of your amateur skill of using....um...Paint.

It's just that a couple of my friends were killed in the Sept.11 attacks and I'm still kind of pissed about it.

though sometimes I wish that some of you were in the building at the time...

moncton.jpg

That's what I got for Moncton. Is it close to what it should look like? My local airport is in the game, but the terrain mesh isn't hyper-accurate, so it kinda makes the airport impossible to fly out of in a large turboprop. In the real world, USAir used to fly something huge out of it and whatever it was would barely clear the trees at the ends of the runway. But the tops of the trees were also slightly above the level of the runway. In the game, the hills aren't there and the trees are on the same level as the runway so you have to climb impossibly fast to clear them

NITRO:

some airports get incredibly well done like San Francisco:

<img src="http://members.aol.com/stormhawk337/ksfo.jpg">

And others are sort of vaguely how they look, like Pittsburgh

<img src="http://members.aol.com/stormhawk337/kpit.jpg">

The big X shaped terminal has 12 gates at it in the sim, whereas the real one has 75.

There's also "You're lucky you got hangars" (that's my airport) and "be happy the runway is there."

PB: i could have posted that picture I showed you of the plane that actually did crash into a building :D
