StormHammer
Just an FYI...the Valley is for discussing issues relating to the game JKII. This thread is a bit too general, so it's being airlifted to the Swamp. You might also want to check this thread, and add your system specs there. Thanks. Pipe Smoke
athlon 900 mhz 384 ram geforce 2 32 meg card My plan is to get a whole new top of the line Dell (tired of building my own, too many problems) the day Doom 3 comes out. For interrim games like JK2 and Morrowind, etc... my current system needs some patching up. Tonight I'm grabbing a Geforce 4 MX (only 200 bucks, and sure not great by G4 standards but quite a bit better than what I have now, so I think it's worth it as a temporary band-aid) and perhaps some more RAM. I think I'll be in fairly decent shape for JK2 then, I sure hope so.

RichyBoy
Current specs: Athlon 800 mhz (Slot A - ) Gigabyte 7IXE motherboard 256MB Crucial PC100 memory ATI Radeon 8500 64MB (good card - rubbish drivers) Soundblaster PCI128 BDV 108A DVD drive 20GB hard drive Philips 17" 107E monitor Win98 SE At the moment my system performance is quite varied. RtCW runs great with full detail at 1024x768, but MOH:AA runs like a drunken snail at pretty much any setting (I really hope JO takes more after RTCW in terms of recommended system specs). I'm hoping to upgrade over the next few months: Athlon XP 1800+ (with appropriate motherboard, case and PSU)) 256 or 512MB PC2100 DDR RAM (depending on prices at the time) WinXP I'm not too interested in upgrading my soundcard really, but I may consider getting an Audigy or similar if I can spare the cash. Of course , all of this depends on how well I can make my student loan last throughout the summer .

Pipe Smoke
So, I went and got the geforce 4 mx 64 meg card last night... spent 100 on it, because my brother paid me 100 for my old card, the geforce 2 gts 32 meg card from elsa (sucker) I also picked up another 256 dim of ram bringing me up to 640... so, Athlon 900 mhz 640 ram geforce 4 mx 64 mb card 19 inch viewsonic monitor That is all that is really relevant to gaming. Not a good system, and yet not a bad one. I think after doing some testing last night on elite force (picked that up also, breaking my lifelong code of never buying any sort of star trek merchandise... but it was 10 bucks and i am a big raven fan from way back) and RTCW... and giants... that it is going to handle JK2 really well. I was able to run RTCW and Elite Force and Giants all at 1600x1200 with all graphical options at optimal. That said though, I did not do as much testing as I'd like I'll do s'more tonight. One way or the other I'm feeling good about JK2's performance the greater test will be Morrowind I surmise.
