PimpusOlympus
Actually, now that you mention it. I really only started noticing this problem after disabling force powers and setting it to sabers only. I guess my superior saber skills are just scaring them
Lord_Darkmoon
I have an Asus A7V Mainboard with the latest Bios Version 1010. Changing the size of the Windows Swap File didn't help...
Lucky
There's a really annoying scripting bug that caused me to restart a few times on the 2nd lvl after you free the prisoners and go blow up the ion cannons. If you shoot the atst's first you can't win. You *have* to shoot them 2nd or you just sit their with nothin to do after you blow up the ion cannons. Of course the first thing I did was shoot the lil buggers cause they were hittin me with rockets. I died a few times tryin to blow up the ion cannons first so I could progress to the next lvl. Sleestak
The end of level stats come up but as the next level loads, a window pops up saying the EXE has caused a problem and must close. I'm sent back to the desktop.
Capt
MAJOR BUG! After finishing the Bespin level (first boss Jedi duel), I get stats and the next level loads... and then it dumps me to desktop EVERY time. Completely reproduceable - its done it three for three now. Settings are high (except for 16 bit textures and colour depth). System is P3-850, SB Live, Voodoo V5500, 512 megs RAM. When restarting the game I get this error. If I reboot and then run it will work correctly: JK2: v1.02a win-x86 Mar 4 2002 Initialising zone memory ..... ----- FS_Startup ----- Current search path: C:\GAMES\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\base\assets1.pk3 (8011 files) C:\GAMES\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\base\assets0.pk3 (6674 files) C:\GAMES\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData/base ---------------------- 14685 files in pk3 files execing default.cfg execing jk2config.cfg couldn't exec autoexec.cfg ...detecting CPU, found Intel Pentium III ------- Input Initialization ------- Skipping check for DirectInput Joystick is not active. ------------------------------------ ------- Force Feedback Initialization ------- ...inhibited, not initializing ----- Client Initialization ----- ----- Initializing Renderer ---- ------------------------------- ----- Client Initialization Complete ----- --- Common Initialization Complete --- Working directory: C:\GAMES\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData ----- R_Init ----- Initializing OpenGL subsystem ...initializing QGL ...calling LoadLibrary( 'C:\WIN95\SYSTEM\opengl32.dll' ): succeeded ...setting mode 6: 1024 768 FS ...using colorsbits of 16 ...calling CDS: ok ...registered window class ...created window@0,0 (1024x768) Initializing OpenGL driver ...getting DC: succeeded ...GLW_ChoosePFD( 16, 16, 0 ) ...27 PFDs found ...hardware acceleration found ...PIXELFORMAT 2 selected ...creating GL context: succeeded ...making context current: failed ...failed hard ...restoring display settings ...WARNING: could not set the given mode (6) ...setting mode 3: 640 480 FS ...using colorsbits of 16 ...calling CDS: ok ...created window@0,0 (640x480) Initializing OpenGL driver ----- CL_Shutdown ----- RE_Shutdown( 1 ) Shutting down OpenGL subsystem ...wglMakeCurrent( NULL, NULL ): success ...releasing DC: failed ...destroying window ...resetting display ...shutting down QGL ...unloading OpenGL DLL ----------------------- GLimp_Init() - Invalid GL Driver UPDATE: I finally got it to load by dropping the screensize down to 800x600, fighting the boss again, getting onto the next level and then saving, resetting back to 1024x768. Looks like there are real problems with JK handling V5500 and textures (see my posts on the "slow loading times" thread). Probably something to do with the fact that the V5500 is really 2x32meg rather than 1x64meg card. Its a real pity, because the game looks and plays great in 1024x768x32 with 2xFSAA, but the loading/texture management problems really ruin the game or make you run in a low res. Dar
Sleestak, heh, I remember the original land of the lost...great show! Ok don't get mad, but I gotta ask, are you using the no-cd hack? That may be the cause of your problem.
The Kessel Run
If you are having performance problems make sure to check if Anisotropic Filtering is on in 'more video' as if it is and you are having performance problems...........turning this off might solve it in a big way. KandyFLip
OK, this seems to be a common problem, and it really sucks: Can't start multiplayer at all on a dual Athlon system. There's a thread about it over in the Tech Help forum: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=35628
|wm|archmage
to the guy with the logitech wheel mouse problem, u have to go to logitech's site and download the wheel.reg patch or whatever. The patch u need says it is for 3d games. You should not have a problem finding it. I have the same mouse and it works great.
Armadas
So far the game runs great on my system EXCEPT for one major detail. When exiting the multiplayer game back to my desktop in WindowsXP I get the infamous blue screen of death! states IRQL must be equal to or greater than 1, then locks up completely or reboots my system. I have Dual boot OS's and in Windows ME everything is A-OK. For WINXP I have tried re-installing, system restore before I originally installed JK2 to get rid of any possible bad reg entries, tried different detonator drivers. Nothing seems to work. Single player doesn't cause this problem. Any ideas? Intel P4 1.5 GHz on ABit TH7-RAID 512mb RDRAM MSI Geforce3 Ti500 on nVIDIA DetonatorXP 23.83 2x40Gb HDD SBLive! X-GAMER (pre 5.1 version) I can also submit the registers that come up during the crash, upon request. I'm open to any suggestions you can give me. EXACTLY! I'd run up to a stormtrooper or an imperial officer, ram my blaster right in their face, and then NO damage when I start shooting. Little sparks fly and my ammo runs down and that's it. This happens with the bowcaster at long range too. I'd shoot a guy in the head from across the room and they just go "ugh, ugh"; that's it. Raven needs to fix their collision detection problems or something. Very Annoying.

Ok, try to lower your resolution down, as well as your details, by one notch and see if that helps.
