A stupid question

Star Trek: Voyager Elite Force. Raven's previous franchise game. Like Jedi Outcast it uses the Quake III engine. The heavy modifications Raven made to the engine are used in JO as well (which also takes elements from Soldier of Fortune II).

Anyway, you can get the EF demo here . The demo contains the first mission of the game. You're up against the Borg.

Why not go over to the JKII forums and ask that question? Maybe one of the Raven people who hang out there will answer.

But I bet I can guess the reason. The game was in development only a little over a year so there was probably no time to do a demo. Part of the purpose for doing a demo is to get feedback and that takes time, too.

In any case, there's no law that says a demo must come out before a game ships or that there must be a demo at all.

So who here has played Jedi Outcast? I know that it's already available in Australia, so most likely I will be picking it up sometime soon, when I have the cash. Some bastard stole my bank card, or it went missing. So I'm a tad bit miffed with that. Fortunately I cancelled the card before anybody could rack up any purchases on it.

So, anybody who has played Jedi Outcast, is it worth buying? Just give me a review of the graphics, gameplay, etc.

Thanks in advance guys.

Oh yeah, and if the demo is out, please let me know.

You should go to sites like GameSpot for reviews. All I can say is that: a) I'm not a big fan of shooters and b) JO has me all a-quiver. It's the force powers. I generally don't do well in shooters because I just don't have the reflexes for it, but the force powers and how they're implimented change everything.

To repeat: I suck at shooters. But in JO, with a lightsaber and the Force I'm plowing through hordes of enemies like they were butter. That's not to say it's easy. Almost every battle means coming up with a different strategy. It's not just shoot and (try to) dodge.
