R5D4
Comparing to other RTS games SWBG is very difficult and has a slow gamespeed. Do you agree on this?
Guest Tie Guy
It sure is much more difficult than RA2, and it does have slower gameplay because of the resources. You can adjust the gamespeed though, but it is still a little slower combat-wise in most cases because of all the micrmanaging.
Guest Thrawn
I'll say! There is SO much micro managing involved! You need a REALLY diverse army to counter all the enemy stuff, and you have to keep finding all those annoying resources. I know it wouldn't be a game w/out resources, but why can't the just have 2 or something?

That would make for more battles, and less farming, which i think would better for a game such as this. It worked for AOE in old times, but in the future it would be better if it was just 1 resource, and lots of fighting.

Personally I kind of like the 4 resources system...I mean it gives a broader challenge instead of fight till you drop you now have hold on to the Nova games where you only have on big area of nova. But people don't have to lose even though they go without nova they can still build Mech Destroyers and some troops so they can still put up a fight when put to the test... R5D4
II find 3 or 4 resources much too complicated . I would be a lot easier if you harvest 1 resource like ore or something it will make the game a lot faster. Another bummer i think personally are the air craft and there fixed positions in the Air it is not realistic, like in Force commander they did little flight around there targets that was awesome !!. Sorry for the negativity i like the game a lot but there are some details i don't like Greetz, R5D4
Guest dlayers
Try deathmatch game, you don't have to worry about resources as much.
Guest Stryder
I'm glad to hear GB is difficult, I was worrying about bad AI and massacres in skirmish games.
R5D4
Oke you are right rather difficult than "All too easy"
Paragon_Leon
it does take me longer to build up an army here than in AOK.. no doubts about that. But this game excells in it's balance. It's like Starcraft: you can set up a proper defense, but you'll never be COMPLETELY safe..
R5D4
I play SWBG 3 to 5 times online and what I discovered is that my opponent is so damm fast with mechs and hvy infantry that i still get ranned over . I'm still figuring out what I do wrong Any ideas?
Grand Admiral
Hmmmmm War is slow. War is not a thing that goes by fast. It takes a good mind to factor in everthing in an equation and come out with an answer in order to defeat your nemsis or emeny. You will find that most of the General spend a majority of their time diverting resources to there and there then telling what to build. Then have to gather intelligences on the emeny. It it not meant to be fast. It is for people that enjoys a challenge and is willing to put their mind in it to defeat the emeny. So you really dont need to complain. Enjoy the game and use your mind in figuring out moves. I find that attacking with several troops against emeny gives me valauble information like the response, their defense, and their numbers of troops. This will help me to guess the oppenont next move. So this game is challenging to all who plays it.
Paragon_Leon
my goodness. spoken like a true Grand Admiral. rushing with mechs is a contradiction, by the way. Rushing is flooding someone with troopers after the 12 minute mark.
duder
Well said, I think this game is a combination of speed, tactics, guile, intelligence, flexibility, and forward thinking. Basically this is a game that requires an awful lot of thought, not one for arcade gamers.
