Guest Creideiki
Maybe you haven't connected the cable from the cd-rom to your soundcard - since gb uses the same engine than AoE, I'm pretty sure it uses also cd-audio for music. Or check out the sound properties in windows and search for a option which says "enable digital music playback" (or somewhat similar to that). Hope that helps
00M-187
The sound works in the game, and during game play, music works in the main menu, music doesnt work in gameplay only, wierd! it works on my brothers machine though. eeeehh
Young David
Can you play normal audio CD's in your CD-Rom? The music in Gb is just CD music (try putting your CD rom in the CD-Playa)

00M-187
so Dr Evil, did you reatatch you cdrom cable to your sound card and it worked? how did you get it to work? I tested an Audio CD and it worked fine, just not during game play
Guest porkins14
Guys its very simple, i had this problem to. everyone who has this problem probably has 2 CD-ROM drives. if so, you installed the game on the wrong one, which wasnt your default audio drive. Just uninstall the game, and reinstall in the opposite drive from which you installed before. Music will work for sure.
00M-187
I installed the game from my #1 cdrom drive, all times, I didnt install from my #2 drive (burner) #1 should be my default drive ive looked in the settings in the game and found nothing in regards to which drive is your primary CD drive, I think I might need to open my machine and check to make sure my Audio cable from the CDrom is going to the proper slot on the soundcard, its wierd but I have no issues with CDrom playback (Music CDS) in my #1 Drive, So im not sure,
00M-187
so your saying if I install the game from my CD#2 and run it from CD#2 it will work with sound? I dont think the game runs from the secondary CD drive, it says please insert game CD, I'll try a few things, Thanks for your help everyone! DashRendar
What porkins means is that you have to INSTALL it from ur #2 drive not PLAY it although once it is installed you WILL play it off of that drive but not until then Can you tell I like capital letters? SurgeBot
I have browsed my game directory, and I have not found any *.wav files which might look like music in the game to me. My music plays at the startup screen, but no music in the game. What does the music sound like in the game? The opening startup one?
00M-187
Its a killer mix of classic star wars cuts, still cant get it to work though, the reason I knew about it was because my brother was playing it and had the music, I installed it from the second drive and it did not work, I also played it from the second drive when installed it from there, WTF, I havent tried changing the cables when I open my machine, maybe that will work, I dont see how
Guest Stan|SCN Punk
The music is found on the CD, and it's in the form of data track (much higher quality). You cannot extract it without a special utility.
Chessack
The first time I played the game, I noticed there didn't appear to be any music. I checked the options, and the music volume was set in the middle. I tried raising it... nothing. Then I tried lowering it all the way to the bottom. Then I raised it again. Lo and behold, the music started playing during the game, and has never stopped. Try fiddling with the volume sliders inside the game and see if that helps. You may have to exit and restart the game a few times while doing this, but it might work for you, since it worked for me. Good luck! May the Sound Card be with you...
