Pol Favre Posted April 9, 2002 Posted April 9, 2002 i was just curious if there are any sources (canon or otherwise) that tell of the Jedi before the Sabre. i know it's supposedly an ancient weapon and such, but all technology takes time.

Pol Favre Posted April 9, 2002 Author Posted April 9, 2002 ah, i was afraid of such. i think it's something often taken for granted...i should try and get ahold of George about it. hah yah, like that'll happen. jun: of course they're fake, but they have a lot of history behind them. which is also fake. the reason i was asking was im planning on writing a short story based loosely on Jedi, but before technology was advanced enough for a lightsabre. i imagine they either used pole weapons or swords, but i can't decide which would look best.

Lostman Posted April 9, 2002 Posted April 9, 2002 Ya, I have studied the Jedi for a long time (10 min) and have found that before the LightSabre they used a special weapon called "the big stick" which was made primarily of wood and was used in the same fashion as the lightsabre. sinistervw Posted April 9, 2002 Posted April 9, 2002 this is the thing i love about the star wars univers! it is so real feeling that we have given it its own history...there is no book/movie series i have ever seen that compares in this way...i would say a distant 2nd would be Star Treck, but it just doesnt feel the same as the star wars univers does!

Templar KoroMis Posted April 10, 2002 Posted April 10, 2002 Well, as you probably know, "A LONG time ago in a galaxy FAR FAR AWAY" Which means, if they ever DIDN"T have lightsabers than they prolly used swords/lead guns or pellets, and the Jedi constructed the weapon themselves so something DID exist before the Jedi, but that was over 500 years, because we know that Yoda is over 500 years old =) Not to mention, who knows, SW took place in "A galaxy far far away" it could have been anything, use your imagination
