Thumbs...

Just read this at Riva3d...

The Observer, a British newspaper, reported at the beginning of this week that research from nine cities around the world shows an evolution in thumbs because of the use of mobile phones, Game Boy machines and other technology devices by people under 25.

This may be Nintendo's ultimate legacy: ``physical mutation'' that has made the thumb, in the Observer's words, ``the hand's most muscled and dexterous digit.''

The Observer quoted the study's author, Dr. Sadie Plant of Warwick University, as saying, ``Discovering that the younger generation has taken to using thumbs in a completely different way and are instinctively using it where the rest of us use our index fingers is particularly interesting.''

Plant found that thumbs are supplanting the index finger, or any finger, for tasks such as pointing or ringing doorbells.

The Observer also noted that Plant was particularly impressed with thumbs in Japan, where video games and cell phones apparently have special stature. Some young people refer to themselves as oya yubi sedai -- the thumb generation, or thumb tribe.

Nintendo, the Japanese company that gave us Game Boy, will have to decide if it should brag about its contribution to thumb life.

lol, that shows us that nintendo has won against microsoft

because: microsoft aspires to rule the world, being a monopolist, but nintendo managed to mutate the world! even if microsoft will rule the world (they will i tell you!) nintendo has won forever, because they changed the world more than the tyranny of microsoft ever could.

so: hail to the king! hail to nintendo! :D
