Crease
I was playing on a server and this guy kept doing this crazy Darth Maul-like spin-jump-kick thing. So, I looked it up in the animations and it seems to be something called butterfly. Anyone seen anything like this or can do it. The player bends a the waist, sweeping their arms then kicks up their legs until their horizontal to the ground. I swear some guy was doing this with the shadowtrooper. Dibbz
I believe that this is the speical move of the medium stance. Its goes Fwd+Jump+Fire. You have to do it infront of an enemy for it to work. Basically it hits the opponent while you go over them.
RabidPlatypus
was it an attacking move? if so the previous poster was right.

Sontarian
Man if you find how to do Butterfly please tell me because I tried all the movement and attack combinations but I couldnt find
Cornbread
The butterfly is when you run forward, release forward and tap jump straight away. Instead of doing a normal forward jump, he drifts forward only slightly, with arms extended to the sides, and in a sort of flying position. That's the butterfly I believe, but it doesn't sound like what you're describing.
Wes Janson SMR
The Shadowtrooper you say?... ... *thinks* You know... This might be a model-specific animation. That, OR.... It might be Multiplayer Specific. Hmm.... *runs off to his game* ---EDIT--- That's not the butterfly. That's the dive. You cand also "dive" to the left and the right by strafing, releasing the strafe, and tap jump right after. You've just discribed the dive. Hitogeki
He right its some new move, I looked at it in the modview Its the move darth maul pulls which I cant explain for the life of me. Looks really cool though. Now the question is, are you sure you saw this in multiplayer or single player? As stupid as a question as that is (considering they have the animations in all models) I just want to be sure.
enDless_Deliriu
I think I saw some people do this on Swords at Dawn today. Neither were Shadow Troopers though. Neither knew how they did it either. We must find out how to do it!

ZeroXcape
I received an e-mail earlier today from someone who said he was messing around with the code and found a way to bind certain animations to certain keys. Aside from the butterfly, he said he could also feign death (like in TFC) and do cart wheels at will. When we get the info (assuming Raven doesn't plan on patching this issue) - we'll release it on the site.
Sontarian
I saw it in Darth Maul pk3 and I searched all net and jedi outcast websites I am gonna be crazy I couldnt find anything about this move.If you see someone doing butterfly, learn how to do it pls

If you can, than maybe you can detach your own body parts at the touch of a button?

Crease
I'm using ModView, the model viewer for Soldier of Fortune 2. There was a description of how to use somewhere in the forum in Chang's post about skinning mp models. I'm pretty sure the animations are attached to the skeletal _humanoid model. Since, there is an animation: BOTH_BARTENDER_COWER (for Chiss in the Nar Shadaa bar scene) for the ShadowTrooper. I would guess the same animations exist for sp/mp, but I'm just specualting. The name of the animations I am talking about are: BOTH_BUTTERFLY_FL1 BOTH_BUTTERFLY_FR1 BOTH_BUTTERFLY_LEFT BOTH_BUTTERFLY_RIGHT The butterfly is not any of the moves you gave combinations for. On a more humorous note, there is a whole class of animations for KISSEE and KISSER (the Kyle + Jan scenes). Funny to watch a ShadowTrooper kissing the air. Ransack
The cart wheel is very easy to do. Also, you can do a kind of "360 spin", like in the S-nes StarWars games. TO make it, you have to do if you were making the cartwheel move, but you have to be in light stance mode.
Dusan
I have seen this in multiplayer and I have done it myself. I don't know how I did it, but every time I've done it, it's been out of a jump. Like, I'd jump and hack down with medium, then I'd hit jump and fire again or something and I'd do it. Basically what it is is a move where you jump directly up from your position and your saber goes straight up. When you come back down your a$$ is wide open to hits and you can't defend yourself. I don't know the exact thing but it's definetly not "model specific" I've seen bots do it as well and I've done it with different models. Never used darth maul. dan-o2
Is this modelviewer something you purchase like 3D max, or can I download it?
Valdarious
Dusan and Ransack this is not the move they are talking about, that is a known move in the medium stance. They are talking about some moves that only NPC's in SP were previouly able to pull off, I do see this in the animsounds.cfg's in the models area with modview and if someone was indeed able to bind these to a key it would be kick arse. Would add tons more to the game.
Crease
This is a link the Chang's original post about this (I don't know why they unstickied it). I'm hoping this works: MP Skins Thread
Bacon00
OK, I'm confused... Is this the move where Maul jumped up, kinda kicked his legs up, then landed, spun his saber around, and then flung the driod head into the door control panel? I've never seen that move... but if someone can figure it out, that'd be sweeeeet. Are we sure that it can be done, though, and that it's not just a stray animation they never put into the game? Wes Janson SMR
No... That's not the Butterfly... I looked through the animations list, and that move is called "Forcejump1". I know this, because I used the console command "cg_debuganim," which displays the name of the animation being performed by the player. We don't want to do this move, nor the already confused player moves, "JUMPFLIPSLASHDOWN1" or "JUMPFLIPSTABDOWN" - which is the upside-down overhead slash special attack from Medium Stance. The moves we want to do are called, "BUTTERFLY_FL1," "BUTTERFLY_FR1," "BUTTERFLY_LEFT," and "BUTTERFLY_RIGHT". And then there are "CARTWHEEL_LEFT" and "CARTWHEEL_RIGHT" that we all want to try out. Unfortunately, there are no input commands to execute these moves. I've taken direct control over Tavion, Reborn, etc. via Mind Trick Level 4. No luck. And, I can't find any console command that allows us to execute any animation at will...Unless I'm totally missing something, in which case I wish someone would speak up...Now... ZeroXcape, hurry the hell up so we can fiddle with these animation-to-key binders, will ya'?!
