new star wars movie

StarWars

Does anyone know anything about the new star wars movie? I hope it's better than episode one. That movie just didn't feel like a star wars movie. The original 3 had a common mood and atmosphere. Then episode 1 came out and relied way too heavily on computer generated characters. Did anyone else notice that the ships were more advanced in ep. 1 than in the original star wars movies even though it was earlier in time. They were more sleek and polished too. Oh and by the way, in ep. 1, why was Anakin a genuis at age 8- he could fly a ship, build a droid, fix a speeder, etc? Things like that just make the movie seem fake.

Episode I Naboo fighters were made to look more advanced, while they really weren't (i bet their hulls were VERY weak). Anakin was a slave for Watto, and he had access to alot of mechanical stuff, Watto forced him to race podracers, so that explains his flying capability (he also had force-quick reflexes).

Just stop comparing old with new, at least until all the prequels are out.

Anakin had good sense of machines. Its an side ability of some force effects. (anyone remember how its described in the book on Centerpoint?)

Early word is that episode two is the best SW movie they ever made.

One thing i realy hope George Lucas bares in mind is , that when he has finally completed all the episodes , well especailly episode 3 , that the film will run on with no picture loss.

For example when Episode 3 is out it will use the latest computers and state of the art software , this will look good BUT what happens once this is out and you got back to watching Episode 4 the picture and style will be totally different and back to the models he used back in the day.

Well yes Episode 1 was kinda happy, but it was supposed to be so I think, there was not a war yet. The vehicles were so modern in most cases because of the technology, somewhere in 2/3 a storage base is destroyed which pushes the technology back very far, (In my eyes it seems a lame excuse but I hope there are the classic vehicles in part 3)

The ships in Episode I were made to look like the classic cars Lucas had grown up with. They were sleek, hot-rods covered in chrome. As for why the ships don't have the "continuity" with the ships in Episode IV-VI. Look at the difference between a military hum-vee and a porshe. That's the difference between the ships in the prequels and the ships in the Original Trilogy. 99% of the ships we see in the Original Trilogy are either military vessels (the Star Destroyers, the SSDs, the TIE models, the X-Wings, the Y-Wings, the B-Wings, the A-Wings, etc...), or smuggling vessels (i.e., the Falcon). None of them are purely diplomatic transports like those seen in Episode I (except for the Blockade Runner at the beginning of A New Hope, which looked a great deal like the transport Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan took to Naboo), nor are any of the Rebel ships really new (the Y-Wings were basically military surplus, relics from the Clone Wars), and the Empire certainly doesn't care about elegance over intimidation.

The ships weren't really more advanced, their designers just had different intentions. If you want to see more advanced technology between the Prequel Trilogy and the Original Trilogy, you're looking in the wrong direction. The Original Trilogy's technology is by far more advanced. You see no ships the size of an SSD (the Droid-Control ship is comparable to a regulation Star Destroyer), and you certainly see nothing like the Death Star.

Another reason for the differences in technology is the THRUST of technology. In the Prequels, they had a democratically elected Senate and the the thrust of technology was more about comfort for the people than anything else (even the armies were made up of droids, not people). There was stability, there was no reason to build up arms, and so the scientists were more focused on improving the state of living. While in the Original Trilogy, the thrust is toward military warfare. The universe is under the control of a dictator who must establish his control through military might, therefore, more scientific resources are going toward the military than to anything else.

yea, this maybe a spoiler...

anywho, according to the ROTJ novel, from what i remimber, obi and vader had a fight, not like a normal spat either  a full fledged battle and during it, anakin was thrown, or fell into a pit of molten metal, or lava or somthing hot... this is why why he has the suit, and is "more machine than man now" i dont think he has anything below the waist or cheast... well just have to wait and see i guess:D

I think when Episode 3 comes out , you will see the turn. It is suppose to be the darkest of all the movies. It would make sence to see the change into the suit from when he falls into the pit. Everyone wants to see that so i doubt Lucas will leave out possible the most important or eagerly awaited part in the whole saga. it would be a great way to finish it off in episode 3 just to see Anakin in the suit.

Obi-Wan also tells Luke that Owen Lars was his brother. Don't count on the novels to be right on every(any)thing.

Heh... I remember finding a page where someone was annalizing the stillframes of Vader being electrocuted, trying to isolate the bionic limbs. It was kinda... uh... yeah. Anyway, we know, at least, that Vader's left hand was bionic, at least.

James Earl Jones is signed up for Episode III. Looks like you'll get your wish :D

Now that people know about the "lava pit," I bet you anything something else will happen. Lucas wants to do stuff that people haven't already thought of... I bet something totally different happens (or I may be wrong..). The books are just fan-fiction.. nothing official.

He probably has something even more interesting in the works I wouldn't doubt.

Well I hope it's not official - that's something I didn't want to see until the movie!!!

I guess we have to wait until 2005 to see.. lol.

I still don't think Lucas will use an event such as that straight out of a book. People would be disappointed. I think he used the names in the books (Palpatine, Mace Windu, etc.) just because they fit (or he made them up earlier and told the authors.. in which case he might have told them about the lava... AHHH)

Anyone else have any comments?

- Hayden Christensen / Anakin

how do you churn out a dog ugly son like Mark Hamall / luke? He looks like Amidala had an affair with a bantha... ;)
