pinkpanther718
Just put up at gamespot.com The companies behind the X-Wing and TIE Fighter games are working together once again on a World War II flight combat game. LucasArts Entertainment has announced that it has resumed its relationship with Lawrence Holland and his game development company, Totally Games, to develop a World War II flight combat game for the PC and console systems. Previous partnerships between the companies resulted in the popular X-Wing and TIE Fighter Star Wars games, as well as the World War II flight combat games Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe and Their Finest Hour: The Battle of Britain. The new game, scheduled for release in 2003, will let players assume the role of an elite pilot on a series of secret missions. "Lawrence Holland single-handedly defined the fun, accessible flight action genre with his groundbreaking trilogy of World War II air combat games," said Simon Jeffery, president of LucasArts. "Adding the sophisticated storytelling style Holland developed for the award-winning X-Wing series, this new game promises exhilarating gameplay with a rip-roaring story of adventure and intrigue. The legions of fans who have been clamoring for a new game in the vein of Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe should be very happy with this announcement." We'll post more information about the upcoming game as it becomes available. By Trey Walker, GameSpot PC [postED: 04/17/02] Well, I guess there could still be hope, we'll just have to wait until E3. Sherack Nhar
On the contrary, even though Larry Holland once said that there wouldn't be any more XWing games a long time ago, the possibility seems more likely than ever!
pinkpanther718
I thought the same thing until I read this, I mean how likely would it be that Totally Games would be working on two titles for Lucas Arts at the same time? It could definately happen, and it would be one of those big E3 announcement type things, but I dont know.

Schizophrenic
Um... nowhere in that does it say they'll never make anymore XW/TF games. They made WW2 sims long before the first X-Wing game came out. Just because they're finally making another doesn't mean that's all they'll do from now on. Ham Yoyo
I hope Lawrence Holland decides to make another X-Wing game. I have all of the X-Wing series games and play them passionately.

Guest Forceflow
If you ask me the future for a new XW-Type game from LA/TG looks very dim. With EPII coming out and all that console crap I doubt there'll be a good Star Wars Space Sim anytime soon
