... it would explain everything in that movie. the bikes? force. planet models? force. kid in yoda costume? master yoda.(also prob thout the kid could give him a lift;) ) healing powers? force/E.T.'s race. the healing powers would be the force, but whn E.T. um... hirbernates that is part of his race i beleave.

also note that E.T. is star wars cannon.....

i am prob not the first guy to think of this, but i have not seen it anywhere on here before.

comments?

edit: i added a poll at the last sec.

also forgot about near the start of the movie, when E.T. is trying to get back to the ship(w/ "mr. keys") that would be force speed, no?

Just because those creatures looked like him doesn't mean they are his race. There wasn't a sign anywhere saying "WE SENATORS ARE ET'S WE LOVE ELLIOT!".

Qui-Gon's comlink was a modified ladies shaver. Does that mean Gillette is also canon? :)

It's an interesting idea though, I just don't believe it.

Well then Schiz, then according to your logic the Emperor is not dead at the end of ROTJ, since we don't see him actually die, but only fall down a shaft..... Or that Boba Fett is still alive in the pit of the Sarlac.

Give the guy a break, from what I am lead to believe that Speilberg wanted ET in there, and definitely gave the permission for ET to be used. And remember that anything in the movies is canon.

Although I tend not to think of ET as Star Wars, it's jsut more of a whim of fancy on ILM and Lucas' behalf.

Today, you get to learn the Straw Man Fallacy.

:)

The movies lead us to believe that the Emperor died because Vader tossed him down a shaft into an energy field. There is no evidence to the contrary. The movies also lead us to believe that Fett did die because nobody survives the Sarlaac. There is no evidence against this either (I'm talking about just the movies). The movies do NOT lead us to believe that those creatures are ET's. While there is no evidence to say they aren't, there also is no evidence to say that they are.

And if you'll notice, I was not attacking Spy's entire post, just the bit I quoted.

I know that Lucas put them in because Spielberg wanted them in, but that does not mean that "creatures in Senate chamber that look like ET's = actual ET's from the movie ET". It's an easter egg, not a legit fact.

well after seeing E.T. a few weeks ago, me and a frend beat this idea out.

not all E.T.'s are force users. just the one you see the most.

if you are gonna go to a strange planet, dont you think you'd want a jedi along?

might also not have been a jedi KNIGHT persay we never do see a lightsaber, perhaps one of the jedi healers.

the most compeling eveidence(sp?) is the reaction to both the yoda voice and the yoda cosutume. it might have not been rececigion of yoda himself, just a member of his race.

also find me anything in the movie that you think cant be covered by the jedi theiry :D
