i won't say any exact date for a release... i believe it should come soon though guys, maybe not this weekend, but very soon

boba fett and jango are on the way soon, as well... all of these models are currently beta testing now....

well, thus far, i only have one taunt in place:

don't make me destroy you

should i switch that one for 'i am your father' ?

for a sP model it wouldnt be any problem to have him taunt more, because he could use the AI for desann, he has like 4 or 5 different taunts.

i have new noises in place for vader choking, choke1 is a quicker paced respirator, 2 is a failing respirator, and 3 is a pretty bad-sounding respirator (ie. vader is about to die)

when vader is hit, the 25pain file is "impressive", pain50 is "it is useless to resist", then the other sounds for him being hit are the pain sounds - i put both clips from kuroshi to work for 75 and 100. for death, i sampled vader's cry when he gets kicked down the stairs in ROTJ, and i can;t remember the other.

Wow, between this model and bloodriot/absath's coop work on boba/jango, I am restless as all heck waiting!

 

I especially love the third pick. Couldn't resist the Luke/Vader battle in the throne room? :D I don't blame you, probably be one of the first ones I play with him as well!!!

 

Kudos to you, that has turned out to be an amazing model!

Okay...who's your dady is bad...and I like everything Vader says...but I think it would be crack up hilarious if he just suddenly said, when he wins, "Who is thy patrelineal ancestor?!" ("who's your daddy?" in ubercool old English structure) *slaps her boyfriend's hand away from the keyboard* I won't tell you the taunt that HE wanted to suggest..............*shivers*

Looking great so far! :D But in those shots of the carbon chamber Vader looks a little too bright, maybe ye took the screen a bit bright, or maybe it's me, but otherwise I would tone down the brightness of his black armor a bit so that there is a big contrast between the black armor and the flashy stuff and lights on his armor.

 

Vader would look pretty cool in a Dark Level with his breathing and those lights, making the hair in yer neck raise! :)

And I prefer "all too easy!" and Don't make me destroy you!" over "I am your father", but thats just my opinion.

sithlord, after checking ur new pictures i have noticed a few weird things which i want to point out

 

1. I don't know if it is ur computer or mine, but the vader skin seems to be very........ rough/pixelated

 

2. The hand of darth vader is not really..... good i say. in fact the thing is that it seems the hand doesn't match vader's arm~!

 

3. The light reflection on the armor and helmet is nice, but seems a little too much

 

4. R u gonna add the "under skirt" for vader? :D

I'm not picky, I just can't wait for it to be released! Looks awesome! SP, MP it doesn't matter to me!

 

Dude, definitely keep the "don't make me destroy you" as his taunt. It's makes TONS more sense than "I am your father", that's kinda lame...

I'd be happy with a beta release, even if the taunts aren't completely in place, just to play the model in game...taunts aren't always nessecary(sp) for me to have fun. But again, I still say make it single player, too. And why not put it in the same PK3 file? Explode two birds with one shotgun shell. Er...two birds with one stone.

*pushes a lever as she walks by, and snickers as Gonk-Raider falls into the rancor pit...whistles innocently and peers around like, "What just happened?"*

hey

the model does look a bit bright because in order to get a screenshot where you could see more than just helmet shine or lights on the chestbox and belt, i had to crank the gamma brightness settings up ingame. When you have the game set at normal darkness, alot of this stuff doesn't show up.

and i am aware of the hands issue, i'm gonna link the hands up and try and make it a bit more cohesive, but why it is like this is because i ended up scrapping the hands i had made and just using raven's default hand for kyle, with its black hand texture, so all i need to do is perhaps just sample the color from the glove and putting it onto the wrist of the vader arm.

the shine really does suit it actually, IMO... in the movies that thing lights up like a christmas tree, even in the dark, it really picks up light... and i think that the effect on the helm isn't too bad. I have modified the helmet a bit more (facemask and the helm) to be a bit more proportional now, it looks a bit more accurate, and NLS and i have compared heads, i've decided i'll just stick with mine. His 'helmut' or whichever does look quite a bit above mine, but it is unskinned at the moment so i'll be leaving it for now

 

and single player support, using vader as a SP model isn't a problem, however for some reason when you load a saved game as the vader model, it causes problems with the tags for some reason, so his saber is in the middle of him. when you start a new game or simply start up MP as vader, it all runs nice and smooth... wierd.

and the NPC problem, if anyone can fix this issue, let me know... ie not holding saber, but having it placed right in their crotch... heheh

and the inner cloak is in there...

He sithlord-II, do you still need sounds for Vader? I got some good quality sound of him, with no beackground noise, so maybe you find enough material in this to fill the complete sound files.

 

If you'd like to have them just give me your e-mail or something, cause I have no webspace where I could upload it.

 

BTW, the model is looking better and better every day.
