CupO'Coffee Posted May 4, 2002 Posted May 4, 2002 omg, i can't believe it! tolkien wrote that book 48 years before! they can't change the title of the film, it would be an insult to tolkien as well as to all tolkien fans (count me in!). also i'm not sure if it's possible at all to change the title at any rate, because from what i've heard, tolkien was very clear in his will about what to become of his books (for example he made it clear what company has to be in charge of the film rights). anyway, thanks for his information, i had no idea what outraging and, above all, ridicilous WTC related things were going on... "is clearly meant to refer to the attacks on the World Trade Center."? don't make me laugh!
Schizophrenic Posted May 4, 2002 Posted May 4, 2002 Prove to me that an online petition actually influenced SOMETHING in the world and I'll sign them all. Otherwise, they're just a waste of time. Give me 10 minutes and I'll give you an online petition signed by half a million people that requires ducks to wear long pants. The original "OMG TWO TOWERS NO!!!!!!" petition was so heavily laced in sarcasm it's hilarious. I pity anybody that actually believed it was true.
Millions o' Monkeys Posted May 4, 2002 Posted May 4, 2002 just because its named that, it dosnt hae to mean the WTC, i know a lot of towers, any two of them could be te two towers. I mean geeze its just a name
Rogue15 Posted May 4, 2002 Posted May 4, 2002 OH BLOODY PLEASE!!! that's so stupid!! What next, are some mourners going to copyright the name or something?! ssstoooooooopid!
cqdemal Posted May 4, 2002 Posted May 4, 2002 Didn't Peter Jackson himself promise us that he won't change the title?
TNode Posted May 4, 2002 Posted May 4, 2002 That is just so pathetic. Granted, it was a terrible tragedy, but c'mon! What next, republish the book with a new title, lol!
DarthLonestar Posted May 4, 2002 Posted May 4, 2002 Let the book burnings begin, quick someone call the Firemen:lightning

PolarWind Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 Oh you wacky Brits... not all of us Americans are that dumb or that litigious. Some of us, however... ARE FRIGGIN IDIOTS!!!
Giant Ewok Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 this is almost as stupid as saying "we should change the numbers nine and eleven to noom and eleventeen." some people really need to get hit...
