Erh... I don't think I did... I KNOW people spell horribly on the internet. I tend not to reply to peoples technique but rather the content of their post. I don't recall posting in a thread with you in a long time, Gonk. If I did... that was then and this is now. My philosophy on internet spelling has changed. :)

Pendantic, her name may be everywhere but I honestly don't pay attention to it at all. Maybe that explains why I spelled it incorrectly. On the whole, I don't pay attention to anything having to do with "stars" and the famous. Not my thing really.

i dunno.....the characters that i have seen so far in the prequels just dont have that memorable quality like the orig. trilogy did...i dunno....jar jar wasnt that annoying...in fact, i disliked the rest of the gungans more than jar jar...at least jar jar KNEW when he was being gay..(more so than the gungans)......

ok well it seems that people say lucas over did the clumsy saved the day part i have to disagree i didn't think Jar jars clumsyness did anything to turn the tide or save the day. when i was a watching the movie i kept waiting for that jar saves the day bit but it never came i still notice that when i watch it jar jar doesn't save the day he is just clumsy and im wondering why he wasn't killed (battle driods suck)

also ppl are saying that you never thought that the EPI chars were memrible like C3PO well i agree but only because i think we see the others as memrible is the time since the movie time plays a bigg role in how we look at the characters of movies:fett:

ok...u know the thing that was really LAME in tpm...you don't actually SEE any gungans scream and die, like the naboo guards do....were gungan rights people involved in the film or something?!

Yeah, right. I always like to read peoples' comments, when they don't like and/or understand something and therefore they think it's automatically "gay" these days. It actually tells much more about those peoples than the characters they critize, and you didn't even find him annoying... Hopefully this discussion won't slip into something that earlier C-3PO=too feminine/possible gay discussion was though.

Like someone already mentioned somewhere, TPM depicted the age of innocence in the life of Anakin Skywalker and blue-eyed optimism which became doom for certain senators/heroes of the Old Republic, so Jar Jar was a character who underlined this fact. I'm sure Lucas had his own doubts just like other crew members who warned him(I have heard about this from different sources) of Jar Jar being too extreme for some fans. Still, he decided to include him and was aware that he leaves this childlike character to the people, who probably would like to beat the hell out of him. What that tells from these fans then?

The fact that Jar Jar's screentime is quite minimal in AOTC and he has matured since the last time doesn't mean he would be totally different character this time in better or worse.

You see, he has learned the diplomatic dialect because he's a senator and therefore speaks like the "sane" person while in front of the Senate, BUT it's clearly difficult for him and sometimes he trembles with words and finds himself under the watchful eyes of booing Senate members.

He can't help himself of what he really is: a "hayseed" who have just moved into this big city and learned this "sophisticated" way of speaking, but finds it superficial and can't express himself like he would like to.

btw, i use gay as a general insult, and if thats wrong, sue me (dont really sue me... i dnot have any money anyway lol)

i understand what you are trying to say, but i do not dislike jar jar. i think that to a certain degree, jar jar was gaining self consciousness in his place in society during TPM, and htat should show more in AotC. however, jar jar does not have the diplomat thing down pat, and when he meets up with anakin, he lets his past regressions slip back and acts like his former TPM self...

also:

when is jar jar a senator besides when he sits in for amidala? - i may have missed something, but im not sure...

his actions are simply inherent in his 'tribal' upbringing, and he is really trying to fit in society, i believe. what i meant by he knew when he was being gay was that he began to realise when he fit in, yet he couldnt quite control his 'instincts'

To me he wasn't annoying, one thing that pissed me off was when I was watching T.V. for the reviews the movie was totaly getting bagged because of Jar-Jar was annoying, and on the radio a guy said that it had not action scenes and didn't say thing about the special effects. They were idiots.

:jarjar: "Mesa gona be a..."

:amidala::yobi::anakin: "STFU Jar Jar"

hehe...well, i just had to, but honestly...Jar Jar was just a little annoying...but not too bad. It was just sometimes he said the wrong thing at the wrong time. I am not saying i hate him...he just shouldnt have played as big a role as he did.

my favorite parts in tpm was when they showed the landers going down to the planet, and those mtts plowing through the fortress, and the droids searching for the 2 jedi. I never really noticed that there was TWO staps chasing obiwan until I got the dvd. :) The podrace scene was long...i was hoping for more of a swoop race, or even a t-16 race, but that didn't happen, but the race was still a pretty neat part of the movie. Sucks how they changed the voice tho in the dvd....when mars guo wrecks, they don't say 'i don't know what universe you're from, but that's gotta hurt' that's the only thing i hate in the dvd, they should've left it instead of saying 'anakin's spinning out of control!'

the coolest battle was the gungans and droids. it just looked hopeless for those gungans, and it was, until the droid control ship got destroyed. (and the scene where anakin goes flying into the hangar looks SO cool...)

I find that to be pathetic and downright offensive.
