Wow, this looks to be the sweetest JK2 map yet! I can't wait to play...but first I must take a shower. ;)

 

P.S. I can't believe it's only getting an 8.0 out of 10.

Excellent map.

 

Just one suggestion.

 

Could you add the Slave 1 prefab!? That would makle it perfect. It's great as it is now. A 10/10

Sorry but I think that its doesn't really give that duel feeling since it has a barren feel to it. Don't get me wrong, i like this map and the effort that has been put into this but at most i'll give it a 8/10. I think that you should really try to implement rain even if the fps kill since that is one of the major reasons why this duel is so popular..:(

and he already made the platform smaller so a slave1 could not fit in there for dueling purposes

 

I think its great how it is

 

Maybe sp could be more movie-like for you guys!

Have you ever dueled online, Kagami? :p Well maybe it's just me, but a nice small circular dueling arena where your opponent can't run away from you (the reason I made it smaller) is the kind I like best. But to each his own, I suppose. :)

 

Plus I find it extremely fun to run away from an opponent, wall walk a 360 on a column and then kick off the column and strike down on his head! :D

 

And yes, the SP version will be much more movie like and a bit more harrowing, as there will be no wind gusting (don't need to balance for gameplay in SP, now do we :p) and RAIN! Lots of rain. :D

 

I could have implemented the Q3A rain into this version, but it wasn't necessarily framerate (though it did reduce FPS by about 20-30) but that it reduced framerate and looked absolutely horrible. :)

i just noticed that the map i got has no skybox(black surroundings)

did i just get a early map or is there no skybox for the mp map and the pic was just to make it look better??

 

I still like it alot rich :D

Well, I got it. All in all good work, Rich.

Two problems tho:

1. found sparklies where the walkway sticks to the platform.

2. I dunno if it's supposed to be like this (I doubt it) but I have huge totally black shadow right across the half of the platform. Dunno what might be causing it.

That is the skybox in the pic... and that shadow line... is really random... :)

 

The colors are off in your pic... and there are no sparklies in mine... I have no idea what could be causing that, Xcom. :)

 

Did anyone else run into this? I took the screenshots at http://richdiesal.jedioutcastmaps.com/showcase/ myself right at release... that's how the map should look. Anyone else's look different?

 

And did everyone get theirs from jedioutcastmaps.com? No one got it anywhere else, did they? :)

I noticed that something near where the walkway meets the platform always gets that "force fog" whenever I force push or pull in that direction. And does anyone know why it doesn't show up in my list of duel maps in the game? I said map duel_kamino and it worked fine, but it doesn't show up on the list.

Bleh, I'm never making another MP map. :p I dunno what that effect is you're seeing, I can't recreate it...

 

And double check to make sure "Kamino Landing Platform" isn't in your Duel list... it is duel only...

 

I dunno why it wouldn't show up... hell, open up the .pk3 and make sure the .arena file is still in scripts/

Set you GFX to low and 16 bits. Maybe this will reveal it.

very nice map rich i love the use of trigger_push as air jets i love side walking the pillers a little small but that couldn't be helped i guess wuith all the curves very well made and i know how you feel about making MP maps!
