The Clone Wars for PC?!?!?

Recommended Posts

Not to get all of you too excited, NO, there is no Clone Wars beeing announced for the PC so far.

But, well I guess some of you have already seen these Screenshots from that japanese site:

Now, these little Screenies were taken within Windows (on a PC i would guess ;)). So as it *seems* the game (or some part of it) seems to run on pc, right? Well while i know a bit about PC games development I don't know too much about console game development, but shouldn't it be supposed to run on some kind of SDK Cube Hardware or anything...

Well obviously those guys are just developing this game on windows pcs, so what?

Well ,look at this Screenshot and compare:

The Game doesn't only look a lot sweeter on the PC I think it would be a great PC game as well. With some NICE Mouse/keyboard interface this might turn out to be just a great merger of games like Jedi Outcast and Battlezone!

Errr, i think I'd just like to see that one on the PC I guess though *g* But propably that's not gonna happen. I'm getting a GameCube in some month or so anyways to play the LucasArts console-only titles... but a PC version would really beg for spending even more money on the same game *g*

Clone Wars would be a very good PC game.

Earlier when Bounty Hunter was first announced, I was somewhat p***d that it wasn't a PC game. Then when I saw the trailer I changed my mind completly...I hope it will never be a PC game!:p

(Animation sucks.:D )

I dont think its for the PC. I was under the impression it would be for console. I think those screenshots or from in-game cut scenes.... which need to be made BY a computer. All programing is made by computer but it is coded for console.

So pre-rendered videos (like in JediKnight and a few in Jedi Outcast and also like the famous FinalFantasy 7) those videos can be played both on PC and most concoles.

Yeah, those screens are real-time...I saw no pre-rendered material for Clone Wars at E3...I think every cut scene is in-game for it. BTW, the screens you see from the console versions don't have bump-mapping inplemented yet, so all versions will look a lot better in the final versions. I was shocked when LEC told us that since the game looks so fantastic right now as it is.

No cutscenes, correct. You can clearly see this by the screenshots themselfes anyways.

And since this is so I was really surprised to see this shots within a Microsoft Windows - window (;)). So my first question was if this is normal (developing games on PCs sure is, but is actually running them on PCs as well?)

Errr, well. I just think it would make a fine PC Game........ harrr, this "Jedi Outcast & Battlezone" mix I talked about just sounds *too* good *g*.

Oh and SHAME on you for having attended this private screening... ;)

(Hey, what did you expect... you didn't take me with you)

Had a doubt or two before myself.

But since those shots came from this japanese site (no i don't read japanese ;)) which had some other excluse photos from the surroundings and due to the fact that these images actually have a better resolution than the other ones from the consoles I think they are real yes.

The blurry shot you posted is probably just a bad capture, and not representative for either the Gamecube or PS2 version of the game.

If you've seen the trailer for Clone Wars, you can see that the image quality is much higher that that. The shot you posted looks like something from the N64.

I'm pretty sure the shots are fake. It's still possible the game will appear on PC, but this is not proof in any way!

might be fakes yes. I still don't think so, cause these images are actually nothing special . They were not supposed to make people think there would be a PC version. Neither has anyone in this thread claimed there actually would be one. Just discussed the possibility.

I for that think this shots are just from some tech demo that simply ran on the PC.

Well, I know in the old days, you would make and test console games on computers, and the Alpha X-Box development stuff were full computers, that is what the earlier games were made on and tested with, so it really wouldn't shock me if those would be real pics (I can't actually see them as the place is blocked and I am at school).

Anyway, yes, Pandemic Studios are the same people that made BattleZone then left *blanking on name of old company they worked for* and made Pandemic Studios, then made BattleZoneII. So, yes, these were the right people to go to for a game like this. Anyway, yes, I am raher disapointed about it not being planned for computer... but who knows, maybe later they will decide to port it... or we could just pretend, and find some emulator. :p

So uh... yeah, it will probably be pretty good. :)

  • 2 weeks later...

I need to get an Attack of the Clones fix on the PC. I'm not the biggest strategy fan on the planet so the Clones Campaign for Galactic Battlegrounds isn't cutting it. I loved Starfighter so why can't Lucasarts move Jedi Starfigher on over and Attack of the Clones looks really cool! I feel abandone by Lucasarts! The one recent game we PC users had going for us, Jedi Outcast, is being ported to the consoles but where the heck is Rogue Leader or Jedi Starfighter or Attack of the Clones for us!!!!

Argh!!!!

Rogue Leader isn't going to sell to many NG's now-it's been out for too long so hows 'bout moving it over to PC like they did with Battle for Naboo on the N64.
