Proxy
Hello, all. I've just completed my second Jedi Knight 2 map called Bunker ZERO. I'm quite proud of this second effort because it's way more complex and pleasing to the eye than Bespin Void. You can get it here at JediKnightii.net or JediOutcastMaps.com: http://www.jediknightii.net/files/index.php?link=file&id=419 http://www.jedioutcastmaps.com/map.php?id=182 Screenie: http://www.jediknightii.net/jediknight2/images/duelbunk.jpg Brief Snippet: Designed for "epic saber battles", this map is an abandoned, but still functioning, Imperial Bunker on the surface of Yavin. It comes with "Imperial March" Music and Bot Support. There are 2 main arenas. The first is inside the bunker itself (this is where you spawn). The second is high on top of the bunker at the landing pad. Have fun,... Jedi. -Proxy P.S. If you're interested, here's my past work, Bespin Void 1.1: http://www.jediknightii.net/files/index.php?link=file&id=

Proxy
Yup, you can find my map there too: http://www.jedioutcastmaps.com/map.php?id=182 I posted the jediknightii.net because this is their forum. But I've noticed some slowdown issues with their severs lately, so if you can't get to my map on jediknightii.net, get it at http://www.JediOutcastMaps.com
Proxy
Man, my post is DYING!... *CLEAR!*... *bum*, *bump*,*bum*, *bump*... there's still hope...
TheMadDoofer
I wonder why, too. It's a really sweet map. Unfortunately, it might not be remembered as much as you had hoped it would be, as maps these days just come and go quickly, except for that Duel of the Fates map that is really cool but ate 20mb of my hard drive. Proxy
I don't know. It's a bit fusturating when there are all the big name maps out there to compete with. Those maps are great, no doubt, but I just wish my maps got some of the coverage they get. If you really like my map, help a brother out and promote it, tell a friend. If you want it played on an online server, ask for it. You know, like a grassroots movement. Anyway, thanks for the comments. -Proxy
TheMadDoofer
The only bad thing about the map is lag. The map itself is beautiful, but I got major lag with five other players on a Pentium IV with 1.4 Ghz and a cable modem. This does not usually happen. If you can tweak the map to eliminate most of this lag, it would be (for me) the best map out there.
acdcfanbill
dude, if i had broadband, and and extra computer, that was good enough for a ded server, and i ran one continually, and i allowed downloads, and people had this map, you can bet your left boot taht i would put it on my server, that said, i havent played it yet, because my computer has no internet access with witch to downlaod it, but the screens look good, so keep it up, im sure you will get recognintion, just bid your time... Proxy
Yeah, I'm not that proud that my map is so bloated. I'm thinking of releasing a striped down version taht places the bunker in a city like setting (few to zero trees, zero terrain, etc.). What do you think? Good/bad idea? acdcfanbill
i would just do another one from scratch if i were you... gives more practice and you wont be re-hashing your earlier work... i would say keep mapping dude, you stuff looks good...
Proxy
Actually, I'm doing some map work for the Trinity Crisis mod But the optimization will be really quick. I just did a test, removing all the frills, and I got about a 20 FPS boost. If you played the map, ACD, you'd really appreciate this boost because the original bogs down in many areas. But then again, I do see your point. I'll take that under consideration. -Proxy
