Why is Count Dooku's Saber Bent?

use the search...(if it works) but there have been previous posts about it, maybe somebody else will dig it up. But basically tis bent so that the saber is facing straight out instead of up..that way he can fence with it...and do jabing moves..etc.

Back on topic,it is bent because that is how blade's handles in fencing are,and I know that because I was in fencing for a year.Fencing is a great style of fighting, and the curved handle improves the fencing greatly.

Did that make any sense?

Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus' lightsaber is curved because he made it specifically to accomodate and perform best in Form II lightsaber combat.

Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus has trained in Form II lightsaber combat since he left the Jedi order and is an expert in this Form. Form II focuses on lightsaber vs lightsaber combat as most other Jedi in that period focused on forms that train more on deflecting laserbolts than on lightsaber to lightsaber combat. (Most thought they'd never face a Sith or Dark Jedi anyways. :p )

That's also why Anakin and Obi-Wan are 'easily' defeated by Dooku, they trained in other forms that weren't focused on fighting adversaries with a lightsaber. Since Dooku knew most Jedi didn't focus on this, he took advantage of that.
