Lime-Light
I dug up episode 1 the other day and watched through it. Something that has always bothered me is the yoda puppet. What the hell were they smoking when they thought that looked like yoda?
ET Warrior
He was like, 50 years younger than he was in ESB, i imagine that you will look different in 50 years.
Darklighter
Still, the puppet in Ep1 looks completely different to the CGI yoda in Ep2. In those ten years between the films, compared to the 900 years he had lived, he shouldn't look that much different...
MotionMan
He let himself go in dagobah. Harsh life it is, being a wild creature.
Lime-Light
He was a different color, the hair was very different, and the face was massively f*cked up. Its just seems strange they would it to be to different.
Jedi_Monk
It seems to me that Yoda changes alot between Empire and Jedi... He's about to die, but he looks more... chinese to me... I don't know, maybe Yoda's species just ages really fast near the end of their lives...
ET Warrior
I still say that even 10 years does a lot of difference....especially towards the end of your life......from 60 to 70 your skin will wrinkle all over the place, many differences.............. Lionen
yeah, but thats 10 years of 70, not 10 years of 900!

Kryllith
You know how hard it is to get Pond's Anti-Aging Cream or Oil of Olay in a swamp on Dagobah? Or to find a good tailor/drycleaner? Of course he looked worse there... Kryllith
Vestril
Yoda is an Alien, you can't really tack on human qualities to him. It's very possible that the last 20 years of his life are very changing, physically.

RectalFury
Yoda likes a little variety in the way he looks or talks. He is 900 years old after all. So, he uses the force to change the way he looks to weak-minded fools.
Kryllith
Woah! He looked different? Kryllith

ET Warrior
Spam, that was (and stupid spam at that! Didn't even follow Yoda's diction very well, because Yoda would never say strong vader become has...he would say, strong, has vader become)
Redwing
Originally posted by Lime-Light Yes, and he looked VERY different. Nor did he talk or sond the same. Strange this is. By the same man he was voiced. Imagining things you are.
covenant_bad
Thank you ET warrior, my thinking that I could ever imitate Yoda was shameful. In episode 2 wasnt Yoda animated? rather than a puppet.
Kryllith
Yeah. They tried to get the cgi for him done for TPM, but were never satisfied with what they were able to come up with at the time. As such, the ended up using a puppet. Since Yoda had a much more active part in AotC, it was rather necessary to get him to cgi. Kryllith
oninosensi
Yoda was voiced by a differnet person in EP1&2. Why you might ask? Jim Hensen, the man behind the orignal muppets, and who helped develop the Yoda used in ESB and RPTJ, died years ago. A sad loss, one which I mourn. (I loved the Muppet Show, Gonzo rules!) What does Jim Henson helping create Yoda have to do with his voice? Frank Oz did his voice in the OT and he did his voice for ep.1 and 2. Why is that so hard to understand?
