bothanjedi
Hey, all you SWG fans, I'm here and I'm looking for 11-23 pals to go flyin' round with. Post here take the pole and tell me what you like flying, I might fit you in. (Note: The best of the group will be part of the defense sqaudron for Alliacne City) (Note, Note: Must be loyal to the Rebellion or freelance (Rebel preferred)
Ride
I will fly anything you give me. Maybe some kind of Y-wing(i think thats the name) or what ever. Even better, you know that ship that the evil sith flew in after pussying out against Yoda? With the sails to go along with the solar winds. I will fly that or anything I can get my hands on...............
bothanjedi
Cool, cool, yet my philosiphy on the perfect squadron is, "The ship the pilot preforms best in is the one that he should pilot, uniformity matters not, only preformance." Right Ride? What is the meaning of a crack squadron if they pilot fighters that they can't fly their best in.
Ride
Well, we dont even know how good we can fly yet. Can we? I mean I would most likely be best to fly in a Y-fighter craft or X-Wing. Maybe, since we will have a fort, I can pilot a AT-ST or help with a AT-AT. If you decide to let me in, I think I will fly the best with the Y-fighter or X-wing. I play Microsoft simulator all the time, so, I am good with the joystick and all.
bothanjedi
Good, but I suggest that you get some practice with all of the other SW ships; A-wing, B-wing, all the TIEs, you know, or should. Actually you should buy a SW flight game, a good suggestion would be SW:Alliance. It lets you create skirmishes, what capitals you want, which ships you want to fly against/ beside. Then when you beat the game without invincibility or unlimited weapons plus your rank, Certified, 1st Leutenant...etc is all you need tell me. That is all the proof in need that you are worthy, keep practicing, and when the game comes out I'll challenge you and IF you can drain my sheilds and half my hull integrity I'll see if you or the person whom has fairly won (i.e. no beams, missles or use of chaff as a missle) would like to join as one of teh guardians of Alliance City. Sound good or would it be a bit too extensive?
Redwing
Sounds interesting. But wouldn't it have to wait a while, you know, for the space expansion? fyi: Y-fighter = Y-Wing SW: Alliance = X-Wing Alliance
bothanjedi
Yes, that does kind of bite, though, they might let us but ships and fly them inplanet before the expansion... maybe.
Ride
I dont HAVE to fly in space or a fighter craft. I can fly transports or help/pilot AT-ST's or AT-AT's to protect the city/base that will be built. I can do ground craft to taxi you around or what ever. I might go and get the SW: alliance tomarrow to see what the flying will be like. Anyway, the only weapons that will be on craft will be just nose mounted guns until the expansion.........

Anyway, the only weapons that will be on craft will be just nose mounted guns until the expansion......... Hmm.. I think you mistook a few things there. Well, we know very little about the space expansion. All I know this far is that their aim is that the combat will be less twitch-based, just like all combat in SWG, than a usual simulator. Your stats and skills will affect your flying ingame. Though, on the other side, I recommend the LucasArt flying simulators (Xwing and forwards) as mostly good gaming and a good way to learn a bucketload of starships. And the vehicle weapons? Well, the FAQ states that: "Yes, we plan to support them. For the initial release, we're going to only let vehicles have one nose-mounted weapon though." This is for vehicles. Not starfighters. There's no info on the starfighters. And again, people confuse "initial release" with "not until the space expansion" and "never". Initial release means what you get in the box when you buy the game on day 1. There's this kind of thing called 'patches'. So don't put your hopes down: they don't say that there's no chance to see it before the expansion! EDIT: Oh, and for those who have never tried a MMORPG before: patches that alters gameplay, adds features, terrains, models, npcs, quests, equipment etc are much more common here than in other games, especially in the start. More than once a week is not unheard of.
DudEhead
also, on gamecube, star wars: rogue squadron: rogue leader is very good, very good and realistic graphics graphics
RoyalGuard
Guess who posted the 'die rebel scum' vote... I look forwards to you drifting into my AT-ATs gunsights... and don't think that the silly harpoon trick will work on me! (Still don't understand why they didn't just stop the walkers...) Koffin
(Still don't understand why they didn't just stop the walkers...) Hah! Never thought of that...but your right. I mean you know they had to see it. Of course the rebel side wasnt that bright either. Letting Vader kill ObiWan just so Luke would......well so Luke could.... Why did ObiWan die again? And dont tell me so Luke could finish what ObiWan should have....
setsuko
Obi-Wan died because he was lazy. "Oh, the other people are at the hangar, getting their sorry asses out of here. It's like, a hundred yards sprint to get there. I rather stay here and fight Vader" If you don't believe me, then why didn't he even bother put up his guard at the end of the fight? Come on, mr. Retired Jedi Knight! He is one of the worst example of lazy old people I've ever seen. Poor Luke. Having a lazy bum and a eight hundred year old nutcase as teachers. bothanjedi
What I think DudEhead was trying to say is that since Obi couldn't reach a higher level of power in his physical body, he forfeited his life and increased his power.
RoyalGuard
bah! Obi-Wan surrendered to Vader simply because he realised that Vader was better than him, and to continue was pointless... Anyone who says that Obi was concentrating on the force so that he could absorb himself into it and lead Luke to Yoda as a phantom is buying into rebel propoganda!
DudEhead
hmmm... and just believing he merely surrendered because he was too lame to continue isn't propaganda? pff... u imps... all the same
bothanjedi
Geeze, you stupid Imps just don't get the point. NOBODY likes you guys.

bothanjedi
(sigh) Redwing, I must concede, you are correct, though if you take a poll on the entire forum of those that are not, Imperial or Rebel favored you'd probably find that the majority of votes would in favor of the Rebels, and those who voted Imp, only probably because they wish to seek refuge in the fleets of the Empire...oh well, they'll all die anyways. RoyalGuard
oh well, they'll all die anyways. Of course we'll die, are you implying that you won't? The difference between us is that I'll die many years after this futile rebellion is ancient history, surrounded by loved ones and expensive things (my rewards for loyal service) and you rebels will all die during said futile rebellion, screaming for mercy as the interrogator droids probe you in all sorts of unpleasant places... Unless you repent and join us of course.... Hail Palpatine!
