Ewok Hunter
OK looked in the dictionary, the definition for homeland, which is as analogous as we're going to get is 1. the land of ones alligance and 2. the place of origin of a people. so using these definitions, replacing world with land/country, it would appear that either answer would be technically correct. if hutts owe alligance or at least aknowlegement of a home it would be Nal Hutta, rather than some long forgotten, deserted wasteland of a planet orbiting around a white dwarf star which is not even mentioned in most star charts:mad: . and to ensure that everyone doesn't answer the wrong bonus why don't you hand out the questions individually to each person after they respond? that way it would be imposible to intentionally ruin someone else's bonus. Jan Gaarni
I agree. Handing out the bonus question afterwards to be answered in the next round for instance (meaning the bonus question in Question 1 is answered in bonus question 2). Of course this could create conflict with when people are on-line. They might not get on in time to answer Question 2 and thus lose the bonus point, which would be really annoying if it's an easy-easy bonus point. Like I said, keep it simple. Ewok Hunter
and even dash's answer said that the hutt's first homeworld was varl. and Jan, your post prompted me to go look it up and it seems that the discription of the various races on coruscant is somewhat fishy. if the taung were native to coruscant and had enough might and orginization to conquor the whole planet, why would the zhell have consolidated into a single city near a volcano? if they had known about each other and where fighting for a while, wouldn't the zhell have a portion of it's population that would be located elsewhere to avoid being totally wiped out like they eventually were? if the taung went and finished off the remaing zhell, why wouldn't they do the same to humans? if the zhell were powerfull enough to have won if the volocano hadn't interfered, why were they making a stand in their, aparently, last and most imortant city? and the questions arn't getting too hard, the first was quite easy and this current one would have been if he was reffering to the "modern hpmeworld" of the hutts, if the bonuses are too hard, wait and do one that's worth less than 3 points.. Ewok Hunter
unless they were gone for days, they could make it in time for the quetion, just not a place. the first question was from the 4th to the 6th, this one being from the 6th to some time in the near future. it's already the 8th and RoyalGuard hasn't closed this question yet. Jan Gaarni
Like I said, don't quote me on it. Oh, I wasn't talking about these questions, rather more the previous once, so he doesn't go too overboard.
Ewok Hunter
well at least wraith isn't posting answers as both himself and his alter ego anymore:cool: but, yeah some of those like the SSD one were moderatly difficult.
RoyalGuard
OK, I'm taking flak from all sides here so let's hear my side of the story... First - the main questions vary in difficulty. The first one was dead easy, the second one was harder. I'm still experimenting with what level of difficulty appeals to the most players. This question for instance was too hard - and slightly ambiguous! That will change. Second - Essays are not necessary to answer either the main or bonus questions! Wether or not people choose to paste pages of info is up to them (and has the possibility of only earning them a single point). To use question 1 as an example: Bonus 1: 4-LOM Bonus 2: There were 4 IG-88s produced, A through D Bonus 3: R5-G8, Mynock (later Gate) so called because he screamed like one... Bonus 4: Cole Fardreamer Bonus 5: 'Mouse Droids' By no stretch of the imagination can it be said that you need to write a page to answer the question! Unless you're using font 102! Third - Ewok_hunter, observe Dash's post: listing BOTH planets, with a little qualifying background information. This covered him. You listed just one planet. In cases of uncertainty provide a similar answer, not only do you ensure a good answer, you show good knowledge as well. Fourth - The Homeworld of a species\ethnicity is their planet of recorded origin. For the Hutts this is Varl, for Corellians this is Corellia, for a Duros brought up on a Wookie colony on a moon of Kashyyyk it is Duros. This is Star Wars, there are no jurisdictional quibbles, the simplest answer is the correct one! Fifth - The bonus question system was designed for those who wanted to be a bit more serious - they were and still are optional. The reason I sectioned them off in this way was to prevent one person from answering them all and getting the points for doing so. I may alter the way this is handled. The question will close sometime Tuesday, I'll post another question and see if I can get the mix right. If I don't I'll create 1.1b and go back to the previous mechanism. If that doesn't work I'll leave the decision of where to go from there to Wraith 8.

Wraith 8
loook... only 6 people can answer the question. 1 2 3 4 5 6 now.. there are 5 bonus questions 1 2 3 4 5 so.. when you post as first to answer the question. you answer the first bonus question if you answer as second. you answer the second bonus question, if you answer as third you answer the third bonus question if you answer as fourth yoo answer the fourth bonus question if you answerr as fifth you answer the fifth bonus queation BUT if you answerr as sixth. no bonus question for you. get it -Wraith 8-
Jan Gaarni
Aah, so you answer the bonus question regardless of whether you got the main question right?

RoyalGuard
Ok, I was going to aim the bonus question at correct answers but Wraith's system will cause the least confusion. So, regardless of a right or wrong main answer, you answer the bonus question relating to the order in which you replied. So currently Dash and Ewok_Hunter have answered their bonus questions correctly, and Dash is picking up points for the first correct answer to the main question. Clear? Jan Gaarni
Clear. Oh, wait, no. That means I'm looking for the right answer to the wrong bonus question. Ok, here I go. Bonus 4: Name Jabba's Kowakian Monkey Lizard pet: Its name was Salacious Crumb.

Ewok Hunter
what kyle, one trivia thread not enough for you? anyway I don't see it right now but at some latter post on here Royal guard basicly said that he gave up on this because of complaints about scoring , he then went on and said that he may create another trivia thread with the old rules sometime in the future. off-topic: Now i find where some of my post count disappeared from, the second page disappeared. I had a number of posts there
