Nuke
Its probalby a very silly question, but I did not find out what this key exactly does. To it seems totally superficial. But why is it there then. Or in other words. Do I miss anything if I bind something else to this key. Please help a padavan.
druid
I'm pretty sure I use this key to wall-walk combined with other keys of course

druid
no, but to wall-walk I use these keys simultaneus: Strafe(v), up+right(or left), jump .....lemme check it out ... i'll be back ... 1 minute later: Yup, above description fits the bill **yay, my 100 post**

druid
I'm not sure what shift is set to by default, since my keys are set up diferent. Maybe strafe toggle? I know I read somewhere that you have to use strafe to wall-walk
druid
I found this in a doc: Wall-walking. Wall-walking - (Gotta have level 2 jump) run along side a wall while strafing in its direction and hit and hold the jump key. You'll run up the wall. Release and hit jump again quickly to flip off the wall. Simply release to fall to the ground. Anyway I use the strafe key to wall walk, maybe it can be done in a different way? Haven't tried it... Nuke
hmm, seems to be a totally useless key I think I will pull it out and force_throw it away
MediocreSlacker
If you use the mouse to look around, hold down the v button and you will move left and right when you move the mouse in those directions. When you let go of the key the mouse returns to it's regular turning function. slacker
C'jais
Yeah, it's a leftover from those doom-days where you used the directional keys to look around, not strafe around. Whenever you wanted to strafe, you held down the strafe key and used look left/right to move left/right.

Bluezman
The v key can be helpful, for example when you run along a narrow walkway, keep forward and v pressed and swing your saber while strafing with the mouse. You will go into Spinning Moves or sidesweep moves while running perfectly straight, especially in red stance that wouldn't be possible w/out that key.
