I dont know much about hardware and the like, but dont worry if it doesnt run for you.Right now,My Nvidia TNT coud run Warcraft 3 with good graphics, but every other game my comp restarts on me.

But,that may be because of my 214 MB on my C drive....\

Edit-you mean drivers?I'll try to help you there.

NO WAIT!!!!!!

Don't EVER use the Nvidia drivers! EVER! They'll screw your system up! Only use the newest driver from the board manufacturer.

My card is a Gainward and their drivers rock! Nvidia even said that their newest driver was still in beta form and had looots of BUGS!

Try windows updates and see if there's a new fix. Otherwise Blizzard will release a patch soon enough. Remember a lot of games are having problems with GeForce 4 cards.

Glad you asked :D

Windows will occasionally add drivers in their updates for various video problems. This was the solution to Renegade on my PC; it was an OpenGL problem.

Also, do you have the newest version of DX 8.1

I've seen the newest drivers from Nvidia screw up different computers.

EXAMPLE: New laptop. P4 2ghz, GeForce4, etc. After installing the newest Nvidia driver it caused his computer to run in PERMANENT 640x480 at 256 colors (I kid you not)!

SOLUTION: Easy...we installed the correct drivers from the manufacturer, Xtasy. This, BTW, is what the manufacturers recommend for updates.

I don't mean to sound rude, but go to a Graphics FORUM and they'll tell you the same.

How were the drivers installed Chief?

You do know the recommended way is to uninstall the old drivers, reboot into VGA mode and install from there. Any other way just asks for trouble.

And no, I'm not trying to be rude either. I work in the IT industry and know of which I speak.

If you have any tech information to back up your claim I would be interested in seeing it.

*Sigh*

I've done computer tech for 8 years. Too much to explain in a post (not gloating, just pointing it out).

On occasions we've had a new driver foul up a computer from SNAFU to FUBAR! The laptop I spoke of was far and away from typical VGA problems. That was only a brief summary of the headache it was trying to put SHal'z back to green.

If I didn't know what I was talking about, I wouldn't post it. And to stay open minded, I appreciate your comments, but plz don't question my background friend. I give you the same respect.

No worries on that, Chief, It's just a difference of opinion from what we've both experienced "in the field".

My only concern is not being so quick to blame the drivers. If it were actually a driver issue, the problem would be more *widespread* than "on occasion".

Being open-minded, you should appreciate the saying "The more you look at a problem, the less likely you are to see the obvious"

or, simpler "You can't see the forrest for the trees."
