First got the skin this morning nice to see Maw in a better graffics form.

The footsteps are a bit weird but the models detail to the character, more than makes up for it.

great job.

P.S. how come some of my saber hilts are blue in multiplayer and can they be fixed. Any info on this would be great.

Sorry about the spam at the end.

Hey guys, I just emailed the guy from jk2edit.com again, I'll see about getting the file hosted there soon. I've been playing around with him in-game, with a modified size scale so he looks right. I began with 300, just for fun... God, that mother's scary as all hell at that size. He died really quickly though, but only if you hit - and here's the funny part - where his legs would have been. Shooting or sabering the actual body did nothing.

Gonna keep at it, and begin to give him Force powers and stuff. I should be able to correct the walking-sound issue in SP at least; I think the sound of the R5 droid rolling around sounds reasonably like a repuslor, so if I can I'll use that as his sound-effect. Need to play a little more with Icarus before I get him the way I want. Obviously, I'm not keeping him as a gargantuan 300% scale model; I'm thinking slightly larger than Desann, but that'll continue to change as I playtest him further. I'm looking forward actually to being able to duel him as he should be. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

As for the model and skin itself, absolutely gorgeous! I am very pleased at how good it looks. And you have no idea how happy I am that the back of his head is no longer a giant ass. He really isn't a reject from In Living Color's The Butthead Family ^_^

Well, I tried out the model last night, and I must say, excellent job on the model and the skins. And I love the taunt. I'd like to see someone make a singleplayer version of this so we can have him actually floating :) like the probe droid. The model is still fun to play with, even if there are footstep sounds, I just ignore them.

Just wanted to say wow on the Maw model and skins. Great job and detail is near perfection! Sounds and taunts are right on. Sure, there is the steps sound, however, after a while, one doesn't really pay any attention to it.

For your first model/skins project, super job! Keep em coming!

Here, I threw together a new character animation file by mixing and matching some of the current animations that came with the skeleton, now he doesn’t do any of those flips or jog when running.

http://www.reandev.com/mawanimation.cfg

You will need to link the Maw model to this animation file instead of the _humanoid/animation.cfg or everyone will use the maw animations. (Which doesn’t look very good if the character has legs)

Force jump no longer makes Maw do a flip

Doing a backward roll will initiate an automatic backstab lunge, although it wont do much damage due to the fact that it is considered an idle saber, but it looks cool.

A right or left roll will make Maw dodge right or left respectively.

And doing a forward roll will turn on Maws afterburners and he will shoot forward.

Nevermind, think I figured it out, but I can't test it yet.

Lemme know if this is right: rename the file animation.cfg and put it in the actual model directory, correct? I found things like AT_ST and Galak_Mech have their own animation.cfg files, so I presume that's how it's done.

Once I get home from work I'll test it out, and see how it effects the SP version.

Well it is pretty easy really, I just replaced the walking animation with the swimming animation and stuff like that.

Unfortunately, simply placing the animation.cfg file in the directory doesn’t work; I tried that multiple times, with much frustration. It appears that you have to link the actual model.glm file to the animation file. For example, the atst link looks like this:

models/players/atst/atst

Where as, kyle for example looks like this:

models/players/_humanoid/_humanoid

Since I don’t even have a modeling program, and the JK2 tools just crash for me, there is no way I can do this.

*grins insanely* Didn't even get much into Icarus yet, and I think I accomplished what I set out to do. He flies, he's effing fast, he's a little dumb, and he occasionally spins, apparently just for fun. Now to see what I can add, furthering his scripting.

First of all, the Maw model rocks and so does the skin. You guys did a good job on creating Maw for JK2

But I think it's possible to replace the footsteps with hover sounds by redoing the animsounds.cfg. I would try it if you have some good sounds we could use for Maws repulsor lift.

Btw. I cant download the mawanimation.cfg could somebody send me the file to KingJezuzPie@gamesweb.com ?
