Hanch Saode Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 I just had a thought.... Imagine you had not seen Ep2, and if you had, that Yoda didn't have that fight duel with Dooku.... Now, if Kinja said he would do that model of Yoda....how would you welcome it?? LOL....I would probably say: "YODA?? That little old fellow?? He can't fight...he's small, not strong, not agile....he can't fight!!" LOL....what a funny thought!
JediDante Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 Thats true! If he did not fight Dooku in the end! How popular would Yoda really be??
Midgit Yoda Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 I'd still like to have him b/c I've thought yoda was a pretty tough little guy since I first saw him in TESB. Stealing lukes lamp. Classic...
JediDante Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 I'd still like to have him b/c I've thought yoda was a pretty tough little guy since I first saw him in TESB. Stealing lukes lamp. Classic... True... True...
HardcoreTaco Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 that gave me an idea of a pretty kick ass mod, imagin playing as yoda, on his planet, and instead of having a light saber you have his little cane, and you throw it around hitting luke with it, like you would throw a light saber, that would be awsome, and i hope somone takes that in mind once yoda's model comes out
DarthDarth Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 The truth about it all is Lucas thru in that last sceeen so little kids would love Yoda. In all truth he was said to be a great Jedi master, but not once was it ever said he fought with a lightsaber. I have some real old pics (in some magazine) of Yoda teaching people the ways of the Jedi with no Saber, just mediation. If kids just was A little old man sitting on the ground they wouldn't worship him like they do now. I've been a Yoda fan since I saw ESB. I fear to many 12 year olds now running around as Yoda, now we have a midget war on our hands. Oh Well, the Kids will-over play Yoda, and lose intrest. The true fans will play him enough to have fun. The truth is I see him being used in more RPG games than I do FFA. DarthDarth
Hanch Saode Posted July 17, 2002 Author Posted July 17, 2002 Yah...saw ESP the other day...and damn that little Yoda guy looks cute!! He really does...the way he crawls around...picking up things...lol....how sweeet
Lucko Mabri Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 I've lost espect for yoda now after that dooku fight. -Lucko Mabri
darth overlord Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 anyone who lifts a sinking x-wing out of a swamp without toching it gets my respect -darth
Wakka Bongo Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 Yoda Is A...Scratch That, Yoda Is THE Jedi Master! Do Not Lose Respect For Him Do To One Scene. When Yoda First Started His Training He Of Course Needed A Lightsaber, The Lightsaber Is More Than A Weapon, It's A Symbol That Says "I Am A Jedi, I Am Fluent In The Ways Of The Force, I Do Not Wish To Destoy You But I Will If I Must." Yoda Is One Of The Most Amazing Characters In The Star Wars Universe, He's Wise, Intelligent, A Master With The Force, And A Master With A Lightsaber, I've Been A Yoda Fan Since I First Saw ESB And I Was Waiting To See Yoda Use A Saber And DOES HE:DEVER!, In AOTC.
trowa500 Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 I wouldve been overjoyed to have a yoda model before epii because who wouldnt want to be a green midgit that needs to take an english class and is a muppet
MaulerZ Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 I would be happy if the model would come out even if i hadnt seen e2 I've had a respect for the litte green muppet from the first time i saw him on Dagobah....... is the coolest!!!!
Gram_Reaper Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 yeah yoda is cool but they should have made that one other guy, yaddle fight in ep2 in the arena. It would have made everyone take yoda more seriuosly when he started fighting. I saw ep2 the first day and everyone started laughing when yoda fought. . . .so sad
Dark Cloak Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 Yoda? No respect? To each his own, I suppose... However, when I saw Episode 2...opening night, first showing...12:01 AM...as soon as everyone saw Yoda's shadow, and just heard the click of the cane, they ALL stood up and started cheering. It was great. Not laughing, but things like, "HELL YEAH!". It was an uproar, because we all knew the level of badassness we were about to become witness to. Well...um...except my boyfriend. He was like rubbing his temples, sitting in his seat, and at one point said, "Please God...no...". I kid you not.

And this thread is useless, it doesnt belong in the modeling forum. Kman delete this thread.
Sounds Risky Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 Obi-Wan called Yoda a great warrior for a reason. Or was it Luke that just assumed? I need to go watch The Empire Strikes Back again.
MUHAHAHAHAHA Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 As Yoda said, "Wars not make one great." Yoda was the Master of the Jedi Masters. He was the head honcho. All of this was known well before EpII. His "duel" w/ Dooku was not just a ploy for 12 year olds... It was an important scene showing just how powerful both Yoda and the Sith were... If Dooku could hang w/ Yoda after beating down Obi-Wan and Anakin, he had to be pretty damn strong in the Force. It also shows that Yoda is pretty badass too, which was normal character development, because they kept alluding to how Yoda was the master of the lightsaber and the Force, but well, you never really got to see it (lifting an Xwing yes, but that's not what I mean). And yes, this thread belongs in the Valley of the Jedi, not the modeling forum.
KMan Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 This is very off topic. I'm closing it here and moving it to The General Forums.
James Brophy Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 i get really pissed off in this post because you lot refer to 12 year olds as babys well i am 12!!!! shocking yes but i like yoda just simply because of his attitude even he is hundreds of years old! P.S if you think i am 12 and you are big then come and duel me my name is ISO_James please dont insult 12 year olds!
Hanch Saode Posted July 17, 2002 Author Posted July 17, 2002 Well...I just thought that when it was about the upcoming model, that it could be here....but oh well....move if you like... EDIT; Oh, already moved
Darth Knight Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 i don't know i never knew he fought with a light saer before that
Divine Spirit Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 Yeah thats a good point you've made. I suppose Attack of the clones has really boosted that littles guys popularity! Size matters not!
greedo626 Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 (reading this thread I was like: who are all these people? I guess it's because the thread was moved:D ) anyway, I think had I not seen Yoda kick major bootay in Episode II, I would not believe that Yoda could do what he can do.
Shadow Angel Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 Originally posted by Divine Spirit Yeah thats a good point you've made. I suppose Attack of the clones has really boosted that littles guys popularity! No duh. The Boba Fett fad is over, here comes that little green bastard I love to hate, %$#%$%^...... yoda. *sigh* Ah, well, out with the old, in with the new. Darth Sidious will always be my favorite, though, and I hope he schools Yoda's ass all the way back to Dagobah in Episode III. After all, Yoda did say, "Do not underestimate the powers of the Emperor."
Shadow Angel Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 As for the Yoda/Tyranus fight, I found Yoda to have been put down to the lower levels of shame. He fights like a friggin' spinning top. It looks comical and cartoonish. I find Tyranus' style of fighting, with his bent saber hilt, much more impressive. It's elegant, graceful, like a true professional fencer. As far as the modeling subject goes, it seems as if the Ackbar model is becoming more anticipated than the Palpatine one. WTF? Ackbar!?? That butt-ugly fish-dude is gay! ARGH!!
