Hell yeah, that's sweet bro! Question, where did you get the obi skin? and do you have an anakin one? They would work perfectly for the map I have in development.

your level has potential but it could need some better texturing

 

often good textures "make" the level rather than the common architecture

 

imho the texture with all those small yellow lighted windows doesnt fit into the scene, also some other textures could need some tweaking

 

also i wouldn't recommend to use too many different (and colorful) skyscraper textures, less can be more

A certain skyscraper should have textures of almost the same color. Try to use different textures (but of the same style) for skyscraper walls, segments, plateaus and roofs.

 

stuff up the plateau with low detail objects like light pillars, railings, crates, additional balconies

 

create a dim lighting environment, it has even the advantage that colorful textures wont look too saturated any more

 

from time to time you (as a player) should be guided into groups of small rooms to not become used to the "plateau environment", variety is important. And through rooms or tunnels you could get to new areas that have completely different art assets (models and textures), this way you could get to a better visibility management that influences the framerate

looks like a dark side gripper's wet dream. ;)

 

Can't say much on the layout because I can't see a whole lot of the map, but I will agree that the textures need some work.

 

Lighting would probably help that though, dim some of the colors with shadows and you'd see a big improvement.

 

Is pretty decent you those r_speeds with that amount of space visible. Provided there's some good fighting arenas it could be a fun map.

What exactly am I looking at here? All I see is a bunch of poorly textured brushes. I see no resemblance to any city of any kind.

Well, Bantha Fodder...

 

Obviously the textures will be reworked, it isn't fully lit, there is no detail architecture or signs of life added yet. Thus, "Should I CONTINUE..."

 

Now I know there arent enough screenshots, but they don't illustrate the amount of scale.

The second you post your work for critique; you are open to people's opinion. I mean after all that is what you're looking for correct?!

 

Just because I won't tell you sh|t like "good job!" or "looking good, keep going" doesn't mean you have to dismiss my opinion on the topic. Or maybe you're just looking for a pat on the back for your work and not really seeking any REAL feedback. In that case, nevermind and "GOOD WORK THERE BUDDY!" oh and "LOOKING GOOD! KEEP IT UP!"

Alpha, I would not dismiss your opinion if I were looking for "opinions" that were little more than flames.

 

Bantha Fodder not only related to your post count but your lack of tact and maturity.

 

You see, almost all the above posters have offered what they feel would make it a better map.

Few have said "GOOD WORK BUDDY," at least not without pairing it with a constructive criticism.

 

Whereas they have suggested different things, all you did was say "I don't like it."

 

Perhaps I should have made that clearer in an earlier post, but your input is no longer necessary.

i just wanna see him post links to maps he's made, since obviously he's so good at mapmaking that even early beta versions look like the q3 version of the mona lisa.

Believe me the map is almost nothing BUT ledges lol.

 

Here's what's planned for this map (yes it will be finished at some point)...

You couldn't really force jump between areas (easily) so there will be lots of traffic and "buoys" you can jump to and from to get from place to place. Much like the falling scenes in episode II.

your map looks alright. i even think your texturing is ok. but it looks big. if its gonna be too big then i wouldnt finish. i scraped one of my projects cause it was too big. thats my opinion.

That's one kick ass map! Though the textures :p but you have already pointed that out so...

 

Coruscant of course...since that is the most cool location...almost...

 

Any new to tell....?

 

What about the traffic at Coruscant... (sorry if you have already told abt it, but I was in a hurry reading :))
