Map That Has... Everything!

Over the past week or 2 weeks I've been creating a map based mainly of suggestions of the players on my server.

 

Currently, it contains:

 

A Pad (Like the one on ffa_bespin), surrounded by 2 floors of windows for watching, and a catwalk that goes ABOVE the pad for birds-eye viewing

 

A hidden entrance to an impressive council table, and a bar. There is a wine cellar underneath the bar and a Lounge behind the bar containing a coffee maker, a TV, and a fridge (TV does not actually work)

 

A small pad inside a dome with an extremely long fall do a smack-bottom death. Over the pad is a long ledge. There are 2 entrances: from one of the spectating windows in the main room, and from the bar.

 

NOTE:

I have no "fancy" lighting on my map, just an ambient of about 125.

 

I will take some screenshots later and post them for you.

 

 

I'm making this thread just to get some feedback on the map, I wasn't intending on making it for release, I had only made it for a "chill-out" spot for my clan.

Once I make a few small fixes.

 

UPDATE:

My server now has the pool on it, the pool is about 15 feet deep (in real feed, asuming that the Reborn/boss is 6 feet tall)

 

It has a low-dive, and a high-dive, the high-dive is about 40 feet in the air.

 

And there is a spa next to the pool, which currently doesn't have a roof on it because I messed up.

 

Also I put a large bar on the roof of the map, and a kick-duel pad over the side of the roof.

 

My server is now using Jedi Mod 1.2, so make sure you have it or have Auto Downloading enabled for your client

* A docking bay with ships.

* Theres a bunch of platforms. and when you jump up too the top, you find a wall that says SWM Clan. Next to the wall is a rocket launcher.

* Once you leave the docking bay, theres a big bridge that leads to a little island of grass. On the bridge is a Distruptor (Sniper Rifle ) and on the island is a Ion Blaster (DEMP 2).

* Theres another bridge. On it is a GolandArms gun. Continue and you get to another island, a little bigger. On it is a tree which you can Force jump on. On the tree are thermals.

Once again theres another bridge. On it are Denotation packs and Trip mines.

* The next Island has a little building. It has a bowcaster. If you go up the stairs, theres a window which you can view all the stuff you went past (Briges, Docking Bay etc. ) In that room there is a Reaper gun ( the one that shoots metalic bolts and has a concusion rifle on it)

Err, ok. Nice start but it needs work.

 

First: The rooms looked a bit large for what's needed. Shrink them down a bit.

 

Second: The textures really need work. It seems like you've just slapped somef down and forgotten about them.... get some variation and play around with the surface inspector.

 

Third: What kind of FPS are you getting?

Dude... the basic layout looks like it has promise, but WHOA it needs some work. ESPECIALLY in the texture department. But those two things aside, it's missin another critical element -

 

DETAIL.

 

There's no "eye candy" anywhere that I could see, nothin extra at all. It's that kind of thing that really helps to set a location.

Also, don't use ambient lighting throughout the level. You can achieve the same effect in a room with a couple light entities that have .5 or .25 scaling...but if you do that, you have the ability to change the light level/color/variation/spot lighting from room to room, or even within rooms.
