Taarkin
Is it possible to downgrade your version of Directx? I downloaded v8.1, but now Media Player dosen't work, and here I go jumping to conclusions again.
Commander 598
JUmping to conclusions your are. My idea would be to reinstall DX and or Media Player.
edlib
As far as I know (and that's not really all that far) it is impossible within Windows to undo a DX install and go back to a previous one. If you have system restore you can go back to a previous time, otherwise you could try this program. I know nothing about it other than it says it uninstalls DirectX. Good luck. Jabba The Hunt
I didnt think Media Player uses direct X to play files, as it seems a bit pointless microsoft making a media player.ocx if they were just using API calls (some of u may not understand this ) anyway if they have reinstalling both should fix everything if not its a hardware driver problem. Downgrading would fix things but how would you play the latest games, if you games sound still works then media player probably doesnt use directx to play sound so what u need to do then is reinstall Media Player. Taarkin
After about 50 bajillion tries, I was able to download and reinstall DX and everything works fine now.
Thrawn
That's the thing I hate about Direct X. If the slightest thing is screwed up, it all goes to 'ell and back. That's why I usually wait to get the latest version of Direct X on a Lucasarts disk:) That way I know it isn't screwed up. Oh yeah, and hi everyone. Anybody remember me? Which is kinda ironic, given the typical quality of the other stuff on a Lucasarts disk.
