The Emperor Palpatine in "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi" was the last of Palpatine's multiple clones created in secret in case of an assassination attempt. The Emperor, being the supreme master of the Dark Side, had the ability to jump his soul, his escence, from clone to clone, body to body. The real Emperor is still alive after "Return of the Jedi", biding his time until the "Dark Empire" series of comic books, when he reveals himself to Luke and turns him to the Dark Side of the Force. Luke then turns back to the Light Side when his sister, Leia, comes to his rescue, and the pair of Jedi combine their strength along with the strength of Leia's unborn child to finally defeat Palpatine once and for all.

this is what you're referring to.

But notice it is under EU, however it is on the star wars site, so i think of it as semi-canon.

Brilliant theory, Holo-Sidious. Too bad it's EU.

Ya it makes a interesting story though but I think it just drags the story out way too much. When your dead your dead. Your probably exhausted by the time you finish reading that book. But I still think Mara Jade is the coolest EU character:drool1:
